Mind you, the Borg Queen lends a certain degree of sex appeal to FIRST CONTACT . ....

I don't think the movie was very good or that Troi is a great character but she was a regular for seven years and part of the main cast so it would be kind of insulting to just dump the character in your final movie with the TNG cast. If they wanted to add her to the movie and keep Troi that would have been fine. She would have been no different in concept from Alfre Woodard in "First Contact" or "Savik" in "Wrath of Khan" or the whale expert in Trek 4.

I don’t think the inclusion of Seven of Nine would’ve made the movie suddenly a box office hit but it probably would’ve alienated most of the TNG fanbase if they decided to replace Troi/Sirtis with Seven/Ryan. I wonder if the other cast members would have agreed to sign up for this movie if they knew Sirtis was going to be replaced.

Maybe this could've worked, just had 7 as a new member of the Ent E - taking some of the stuff Troi, Worf, Geordi & Riker had to do. could she had even been on helm/navigation? or would thatve been too lowly?

In theory she could have assigned as Data's replacement at ops with him being promoted to first officer since Riker and Troi would be leaving soon. When they find B-4 he has been combined with Borg tech so Data and Seven work to try and figure him out. After Shinzon has his meeting with Picard he has his mind rape on Seven. He is fascinated by the Borg. His ship was made partly by Borg tech and he created the B-4 Borg hybrid using his knowledge about them. So he is going to be fascinated my both Picard the former Locutus and Seven a free Borg who is also very attractive and he has not been around females like her, after growing up in the mines with the Remans.

Shinzon goal is not to attack earth but to use Seven and Picard as a means of replacing the Borg Queen as the head of the entire Borg collective with Seven as his own version of Locutus. The Romulans freak out because they figure this is a good way to get Romulus assimilated so they join forces with Picard to stop him. Seven and Picard get beamed away, partly because the B-4 hybrid is able to trick them and he takes off to a secret lab to make his plan happen. Riker and Troi show up, after we haven't seen them since the Wedding in the Titan and they join forces with the Enterprise with Data in command to go hunt them down and rescue Picard and Seven.

Picard and Seven meanwhile work on their own escape and find themselves in the bowels of his ship having to evade Remans and they find a lab were the Borg Queen, in several parts but still alive is being kepth. They kill her because she was vital for his plans to take over the Borg and Shinzon vows to kill them both because of what they did. At this time both the Enterprise,Titan and the Romulan fleet show up and they fight his ship. Picard naturally is able to kill Shinzon and he sacrifices his life to save, Seven.

Movie ends with crew mourning the loss of Picard. Maybe even go have one of those holodeck funerals like we saw with Yar when she died. RIker and Troi leave on their ship. Data is now captain of the Enterprise, with Worf as his new first officer and Seven is now a new member of the family.

First time I'm hearing this. How cool is it that after years and years of being a Star Trek fan, living and breathing this franchise, you can always suddenly come across some tidbit you never before heard of before?

I actually like the idea of Jeri Ryan/Seven of Nine in Nemesis. If done well this could have worked really well and might have opened the gates for more Voyager (or Deep Space Nine) characters appearing in future movies. Would have been a bad decision to loose Sirtis altogether for the movie, but I agree that Ryan is a much stronger actress than all the women from TNG.

It would make sense. Bring back your most popular bad guys and maybe your most used bad guys in Romulans. Also the villian from your most popular movie. Kill Picard and put everyone going down different paths which would be a nice way to bring closure to TNG. Maybe you could even have O'Brien and Wesley Crusher as new crew members of the Titan for a cameo. Barclay at the wedding. Ogawa scene were she has become a doctor and will replace Crusher when she goes to Starfleet Medical. Also even though this would pre-date the Marvel movies, a post credit scene were Q kind of mourns but in a funny way the death of Picard.

I'm still amazed that they never worked Q into the TNG movies, given his popularity.

Perhaps de Lancie wanted too much money for a feature film? Nimoy claimed that was why Kirstie Alley didn't reprise her role as Saavik.

I don't think it got that far. I can't recall any proposals for Q in a TNG film, unless Maurice Hurley's Generations script included him? I don't know if there's any information about they script.

My theory is the movies almost need the old and familiar aliens to be a success. A movie is were you want to use your best and most popular stuff. It's not like tv were you can do a alien of the week and if they suck it's okay because you got something new the next week. That's one of the reasons Khan, klingons and the Borg seem to be involved with most of the more successful movies and the Sonya and Remans feel like a waste of time. I would even say one of the reasons "Beyond" wasn't a bigger hit was because it tried to sale people on some aliens that nobody had ever seen before.

That one with nothing but two whales and a giant space log did pretty well though.

That movie also had the ultimate selling point to a casual audience and that was a modern day setting. Basically it's all about seeing KIrk and Spock in the real world.

I think it would have been a disaster if they had her straight up replace Troi word for word, scene for scene. If they rewrote those scenes for the character, who knows?

But the movie focuses so much on Picard and Data I don't know if there would have been room for 7of9. I doubt they would want to keep her as a background character like Troi.

Exactly. The TNG movies focused so much on those two, that they might as well not have bothered with anyone else.

Maybe but a Trek comedy I think would have a chance of being made. Comedy is popular and something that isn't a turnoff for a mainstream audience in the way a thoughtful sci-fi drama, might be.
