Welcome Mr. Borg. Note that once you begin, resistance is futile.

I've always considered TNG to be "my Trek", although I love almost all of the other series.

Hello all! I'm 45 and a huge fan of TNG from the very first episode.

Notable TNG memory: in "Where Silence Has Lease", the conversation about death between Picard and "Data" was literally an eye-opener, and the first time I realized that there could be a concept of the afterlife that did not fit a conventional mold.

"Have you ever tried Star Trek....on weeeeeed?"

TNG is definitely "that Star Trek" for me. I am too young to have watched the original series and TNG was the first I saw and hence it has that special place for me. The original series feels slightly too "camp" for me, TNG has the best balance. Also the characters - Picard, Data, Q are my absolute favourites. It is rare to see such a high quality acting in sci-fi series. While some of the episodes are a bit silly, the best of the best are gorgeous.

Hi all. Newbie here. I'm an all-Trek fan but sounding off as TNG is near the top of my list. My absolute favorite has to be DS9. Usually I just watch one from each when I'm binging. Live long and prosper!

    Hi TauCygna here !
Soooo I am a 29 years old French TNG fan. At first I began watching Star Trek to please my husband (he's been a fan since his teenagehood), and then I stayed for the characters - especially Cmd Data ! I always had a soft Spot (ahah) for androids in fiction. I love Asimov's Robots stories, Blade Runner, Chobits, Ghost in the Shell...So Data is basically everything I love in a scifi character ! I am currently working on a fic about him and I'd love some help from more knowledgeable trekkies : )

    Seeya soon !

I'm always fascinated by the global reach of Trek. I must say, your use of English is outstanding. If character development is your thing, I highly recommend the Enterprise series. In addition, the arc toward development of the UFP and the Prime Directive is powerful.

My favorite characters were Picard and Data. I saw Picard as a father figure growing up as a teenager as my dad & I were not close. I find it humorous now, but I used to mimic Data as a teen on occasion. Anyway, it was Picard's interest in archaeology and classical music that inspired me to get a BA minor in Anthropology and I love going to classical concerts at least once a year. Nice to meet all of you.

I have a confession. Growing up and watching Star Trek TNG, I loved the show, and still do to this day. Its by far my favorite series in the franchise, but at the time, I despised Riker. I could not stand the man. However, after growing up, getting older, and hopefully a little wiser, and also having served as an XO (Executive Officer), I can relate to Riker more than any other character, and not only do I appreciate him a lot more, he has since become my all-time favorite Star Trek character.

    Hi,
Long time fan of TNG and latterly DS9.
Rewatching on Netflix for the thousandth time!

Love Picard, Data, Worf and Riker. Beverly and Troi annoy me with their simpering and “I sense.....” respectively. Geordi got better latterly but wasn’t great early on.

The series became so much better as it went on, moving away from the squeaky clean, no conflict ethos.

I enjoy most episodes but tend to avoid anything with Lxwanna Troi in it!

    Welcome!
If you're avoiding Lwaxana in DS9 episodes, don't. She's practically a different character there and much easier to relate to, imo. Fwiw, I liked her episodes in the later seasons of TNG. Once she became emotionally vulnerable, she became less cartoonish. Just a thought. :)

Hi everyone I’m Clint. Love TNG, discovered it towards the end of the run as I was born too early to watch the early years in their first run. I’m definitely a Picard/ Riker / Data guy.

Hello! I made a post in the general introductions thread but might as well do so here. I got into Trek a couple years ago starting with TNG and I've seen every episode. Hard to choose a favorite episode or character but I have to go with Best of Both Worlds and Data.

Greetings! Been posting in Discovery for a bit. TNG is my favorite (Stewart & Spiner were fantastic) Trek by a hair over TOS. Though I do give the TOS movies the edge.
