You know every time I watch Voyager I wait for the part of the sequence just at the end where she almost steadies and then goes to warp in a stream.............

    That was great! Stunning ship.

I would've removed the reflection on that ring

I've always thought Voyager had the best opening sequence.

That’s beautiful. For the techies, what did he do?

Recreate it from scratch in Lightwave. There's some details in the video description.

Also, this is gorgeous. The work Foundation Imaging et al did on Trek back in the '90s was a big influence on my wanting to work in VFX. Seeing this in 4K brought chills.

This is lovely! However, the placement of the text for the cast is driving me a little nuts.

But then how would we know how impossibly tiny the planet is? ;)

Even as a kid I thought...the size of that planet can't possibly be right...

They should have made THAT episode, just a quiet survey mission on an impossibly tiny planet A-story and maybe some crew interaction B-story. The theme could just have been little stories between pairs or threes.

How? The guy just placed them where they would've been placed had Voyager been done in 16:9.

I just realized: This intro is a blatant violation of Guideline #3! Unclean! Unclean! ;)

A couple of them are way too close to the edges of the screen for my taste. Offhand without watching it again I think Seven's was the one that stood out.

I don't like this at all, it looks awful! Every shot feels artificial and obviously fake.

I've watched it a couple of times and Ryan's credit looks fine--- it's just that in widescreen there is more spatial space between the credits location. If you notice with Mulgrew and Beltran's credits in the original Beltran's credit is more centered whereas Mulgrew's credit is left justified. In the widescreen it looks different because they are more spread apart.
