Okay...to be fair - He was involved with the making of Prelude to Axanar (I would say he didn't actually 'make' it - the industry professionals that were on-board because of Christian Gossett did) BEFORE he got the 1.4+ million to make Axanar. Peters TOOK CREDIT for Prelude to Axanar (and acted in it) - but I don't think he was all that involved behind the scenes other than preening on set and signing the checks. He sure as hell did watch what any of the professionals actually did; because had he - I'm sure we'd have had something other then Tobias Richter CGI VFX promos and continued promises.

So yeah (and I have to see if Lane did post my post and respond to it) - I still contend that if you get 1.4 million in crowdfunding, and 3 years later (2014 -2017) ; you STILL haven't produced anything new - yeah you're a Fake Star Trek Fan Film Producer.

But that's just my opinion. ;)

I still contend that the 3 minute Vulcan Scene is better than anything you could do with $1.4 million in donor money. #Hater!
CBS is planning to buy my Axanar script, just you wait. I"ll show you.

Did someone - anyone - actually think it WAS canon? Like, actually to the point that Axanar had to publically state that it wasn't on their website?? WTF??? :wtf:

Or was it simply a manufactured opportunity to take another swipe at Discovery? That would make sense, if history is any indication.

It looked more like they pointed a camera at him while he attempted to recite lines from the script. I'm not at all sure I'd call it "acting".

Admittedly, I doubt I could have done much better. Then again, I have never claimed to be an actor.

For 1.4 million, you could run a million dollar X-Prize for the best ever amateur Trek script, and have almost 20x the normal budget of a high end fan film to organize volunteer professional labor to produce it, and pay the basic materials expenses for things that aren't realistic to be donated.

Do even the authors of regular Trek episodes get a million per show?

    "Is Axanar canon" asks...

A: Someone who doesn't know anything about Star Trek
B: Someone who doesn't know anything about canon
C: Someone who doesn't know anything about Star Trek canon
    D: Literally, no one...
    E: All of the above

Audience tip: acting is more effective if you can move your eyebrows. Or anything else. Even a little lip curl has its effect.

1.4M is roughly 10,000 times the budget of any given Potemkin Pictures production, not including sets or costumes. We could film for the next 833 years with that budget.

Seriously nuts. Axanar doesn't even fucking exist, how can it be part of anyone's "head canon"???

Axanar is Head Canon? They should incorporate that into the new series.

Ensign, flush head cannons! Full spread!

I am glad Alec is granting permission to every single person in the Trek world to turn away and get on with their lives.

This is why we need universal health care in the US. So people don't run out of their anti-psychotic medication.
