2275 - 15 years after the events of STID. It is a time of interstellar war. The destruction of the Klingon moon Praxis has forced the Klingon Empire into an all out invasion of the Federation, led by the sinister General Chang and brutal Captain Kruge.

The war is going very badly for the Federation. Starfleet Command believes that defeat is inevitable. Within six months, they may have no choice but to surrender. Faced with this Starfleet has been secretly perverting the newly developed terraforming device called Genesis (constructed by Dr Marcus) into final solution doomsday weapon to use against the Klingons in order to bring a swift end to the war. Meanwhile a klingon attack on a secret Section 31 base has unleashed the genetically engineered warlord Khan (who had been stored in cryogenic freeze with his 72 followers in Area 51 now based on Ceti Alpha V). He quickly learns of Genesis and hijacks the USS Reliant which is carrying the Genesis torpedo for final testing..

As war threatens to engulf the galaxy, the Federations last hope now lies in Admiral Kirk, Captain Spock and the disbanded crew of the USS Enterprise to defeat Khan and prevent universal Armageddon! However a far more deadly enemy to all concerned is lurking in the shadows..

If Star Trek 5 is Star Trek VI, then Star Trek 4 is Star Trek IV, and V, whereby Sybok steals the Enterprise to time warp back in time to steal a humpback whale to take to the center of the galaxy to talk to God, who turns out to be another, lonely humpback whale.

    ST6 (2023 - filmed back to back with ST5)
The defeat of Khan and the retrieval of the Genesis device by Admiral Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise-A has brokered an uneasy truce between the Federation and the Klingons. but peace is short lived as the emergence of the lethal cybernetic race The Borg is now threatening to assimilate the Federation and the Klingon Empire who must stand together in order to resist. However the assimilation of the romulan Nero has given the Borg valuable knowledge of future events, and as a result there may be no stopping them..

originally had Borg Queen as Kate Beckinsale, then Rooney Mara but after seeing
    Blade Runner 2049
decided a First Contact era Alice Krige would make a great deal of sense.

I personally prefer the second idea. I wouldn’t like another TWOK rehash.

I have no idea what I’d want to do with ST4 plus other than do a Kirk & Spock movie with no McCoy, Uhura, Sulu etc and somehow give Shatner a part.

I like the idea of moving the characters on, Maybe make Sulu captain of the Excelsior? Introduce a nuTNG crew?

Was trying to figure out how to give Shatner a cameo and figured a TMP cameo via a Spock/Nero mindmeld flashback/forward (glimpsing an alternative reality as suggested in IDWs Nero) would work best for possible Vger/Borg connection (along with TMP Nimoy - maybe when they explore Vger together.)

The Federation would seek a peaceful resolution to building hostilities not deploy a doomsday weapon against the Klingons. Also with the destruction of Praxis, the Klingon homeworld would be devastated, their infrastructure severely compromised and one of their key weapons development and manufacturing facilities gone, which would bring into question just how long they could sustain all-out war against the Federation, whilst also defending their borders from the Romulans (who could use their predicament and warmongering to invade and claim multiple sectors of space).

One could argue that Alexandra Daddario can actually act, unlike Megan Fox... :P

Love the choice of Armie Hammer as Decker, that's spot on!

Figured that could be a advantage with the aloof Fox an unemotional Vulcan trying to be more human (like Alley) where as AD seems more personable..

Yeah Hammer as Decker would totally work (picturing him and nu-Ilia sacrificing themselves at the end melding with vger to defeat the borg - like STIDs radiation redux. fanwank at it finest eh)

Funny when started this thread the idea was there would be ST4 in like 2018 or 2019 and this imaginary epic back-to-back 5th/6th for 2022/23. yet now its looking like be lucky if theres a ST4 for then
