I had thousands of pictures on Photobucket; now I can't even use it to edit photos. I just spent hours deleting photos and making sure each one was saved somewhere on my computer. It took hours and I still have 5 to 6 hundred to go. It's worth it, though, to be done with Photobucket once and for all.

^^ That's awful. :( Luckily, I learned my lesson when I had to do that with AOL, and I've been keeping a mirror folder of everything I upload. It saved me a lot of trouble when Comcast screwed us over the same way, and now with Photobucket. I'm still doing it, because who knows what will happen with Postimage (or Amazon, where I store my non-picture files).

Well I'm thankful for my isp webspace .... I don't host a lot of images and that space can be used for that purpose. For me that works as I can post a direct link to the image and not have to worry about a hosting service.

you can navigate to Your Bucket and click Download album

this will only work for static images though, GIFs and videos you'll have to DL manually

I have all my images in a file on my PC (as well as backed up) and only have a few dozen files on Photobucket and only ever used it on here (a maybe two other boards) to link to photos.

As soon as I download those pics I find relevant, I'm done with them.. if they want to charge excessive prices for something that was free for a decade or more, they need to fold. Thank god I only have 12% used of my allowable 2 gigs..

I closed mine last night too. It only had 12 pics on and I think they were all for here.

They're still sending me emails. Apparently I get first crack at an exclusive monthly installment for the 500 plus plan (didn't they already have that? It was supposedly $39/month or $399/year). They don't say how much it is, and I haven't clicked the link to find out. I'm afraid of being taken to the pornographic "sponsored ad" again.

Oh, and they finally got around to answering my email complaining about the pornographic "sponsored ad." My complaint will be passed on to the appropriate department, and would I please fill out a brief survey, saying how I found their customer service?

I haven't yet. I'm trying to figure out the best way to say, "You REALLY don't want to know what I think of your 'customer service.'"

    1. Put them in Spam.

    2. It'll likely be a rank us out of five, so just put lowest mark possible.

I downloaded my pictures, minus the GIFs and deleted my account about a month ago. They emailed me after that about upgraded, I emailed back that I don't have an account and then two nights ago, I got this:
    To which I replied,
    They replied:
    Then, I get this:
At this point, I'm confused, surely they aren't asking for the email address, since it's the very one they are responding to. But, then that would mean they are asking for the email that they sent, which is confusing, since they are the ones who sent it. I replied back to mention that this email was confusing and got this:
    So, I responded:
And, so far, I've gotten no response. I'm not sure if the mistake is mine for not being clearer or the mistake is theirs for being poorly run.

Sounds like the runaround I got the last couple of times I had issues with a seller in the Amazon Marketplace. It's like every new person or department you deal with either doesn't have access to the previous emails, they're too stupid to read them, or they're actually that illiterate.

Since your account no longer exists as far as you're concerned, just mark their emails as spam/block them (however your email program works). It's not like they can actually squeeze money out of you.

I know, at first I thought it was a good chance to get out some aggression and "howl at the wind," so to speak, as usually replying to an automated email like that never gets a response. In fact, the first time it happened, I didn't get a response. Then two days ago, I did and I just fell into replying. Now, it's like an absurd comedy skit.

The first reply was from Robert, their "bot." Then it seems a real life person got involved. All in all, I think I'd rather talk to the bot.

But, you're right, I should just label them spam and be done with it.

You know what the real bastard thing about that is? Even though you saved them, I know years ago when I was using Photobucket on certain rare occasions, they not only re-sized your images but would downgrade the quality a little. So you can't even get your full originals if you don't have them saved.

shivkala, you have experienced what I've been experiencing for probably about a decade now: Nobody wants to talk to you anymore; they're either auto-generated replies or some shitty A.I. program that scans it and thinks it knows what you want and then send a more sophisticated (if that's even possible...) auto-generated reply. I supposed this is to cut down on employees for customer service.

Same thing when calling a company. You get some fucking computer voice with menu options that don't quite help, and a good portion of the time it asks you to repeat yourself 'cause it can't understand you -- and I don't speak sloppily. I used to mash "0" until I got an operator, but now that can conflict has the number zero is also used as a menu option, so you just have to keep askng angrily for the "Operator!!!" until it finally says it'll transfer you. And at that point it's 50/50 whether you get somebody from your country or some guy in India who may or may not speak clearly and fully understand what you are saying, and is way way way to apologetic about things.

You see, I did the opposite. I uploaded a ton of pictures to Photobucket until I was just below the maximum. Then I signed out and deleted my auto login. I too put their emails into spam. Why not just take up space on their servers. In fact I'm thinking about just opening additional accounts and uploading tons of pictures to take up space. Honestly, I don't have the time but it would be fun to do. So my account will just sit there, as now I moved over to PostImage and I'm really happy.

The down!glad function did not work for me yesterday or today. I thought I had deleted all my photos but still had the folders that had been connected to my mobile account. It wouldn't let me down!oad the folders so I had to do it one by one.
