Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

I'm a big fan of the Dallas series that ran from the late 70's to the early 90s. Many guests from TOS appeared on this series, some of them prominently--especially Morgan Woodward (Punk Anderson) and William Smithers (Jeremy Wendell).

William Windom also appeared on Dallas in two episodes as the slimy Amos Krebbs. Echoing his performance as Matt Decker, Windom's performance as Krebbs was memorable enough that one primary cast member (Steve Kanaley) called Windom's guest performance his favorite of the entire series.

What I didn't realize was that Woodward and Windom acted together on the same episode and in the same scene (although they never interacted with each other)!

Two of the most unforgettable voices in Westerns there, Davis and Woodward.

 

Too bad that Morgan Woodward didn't play one of the Earps in Spectre of the Gun.

 

But my Lord if he had, we'd still be debating it to this day if Kirk had envisioned Wyatt Earp in the form of his old friend and recent adversary Captain Ronald Tracey, wouldn't we!!!

Charles Napier in an Incredible Hulk ep yesterday, thrown in a sweatbox by bad guys, singing a little I've-been-thrown-in-a-sweatbox-by-badguys ditty. Not as good as his numbers on The Way to Eden.

 

Charles Napier had an interesting history with The Incredible Hulk. After Ted Cassidy died, Charles Napier was brought in to do the grunts and snarls of the Hulk, so his appearing in an episode is a bonus for him.

 

One would not have expected Ruk and Adam to play the same role...

 

George Takei in a Twilight Zone episode 'The Encounter'. It was only broadcast once and then CBS yanked it. I watched it today and thought it was kind of controversial for the 1960's, but frankly It wasn't one of the best TZ episodes. The whole show was confined to a man's dusty attic.

 

He'll be back later in the season, playing a Hollywood stand-in who helps out on a mission by being, well, a stand-in for the guy they're kidnapping. I like to imagine he was playing himself, although he had a different character name in the credits.

 

Finally catching up with Outer Limits now that MeTV is running them.

Tonight I watched Bellero Shield, with Sally Kellerman (WNMHGB's Dr. Dehner), Martin Landau (1999's Commander Koenig) and Neil Hamilton (Batman's Commissioner Gordon). It was not until the end credits rolled that I discovered that another Trek alumnus was on hand: The benevolent alien was played, under heavy makeup, by John Hoyt (The Cage's Dr. Boyce).

All in all, a very satisfying episode on all fronts: story, effects makeup and cast.

 

Another on one of this week's Hulk episodes - I only caught the end, but there was Diana Muldaur. I think she was playing Banner's sister.

And Decades is running Kung Fu all weekend - this morning I saw Logan Ramsey as, shockingly, a slimy conniving guy.

 

You are correct, Forbin. Diana Muldaur played David Banner's sister. A character relation the comic version of Bruce Banner doesn't have.

Angelique Pettyjohn played the part of Dora Belair in the 1988 film The Wizard of Speed and Time. You can see her at 14:15 into the film, complete with a Shahna poster on the wall of her office! The whole film was posted to YouTube with the blessing of it's creator/star, Mike Jittlov. If you've never seen it, it's a fun romp with lots of great practical effects and animation work.



And right after her clip, Jittlov bikes by a lot where three SF vehicles are seen in the background. See if you can recognize them.
