Are we seriously going to get back-to-back years of Kershaw looking like the clear front-runner for NL Cy Young before he blows a gasket and misses too much time to qualify?

He's a hard thrower with a jerky delivery. I'm surprised he hasn't had a lot more injuries.
Strasburg is also a hard thrower, with the added benefit of working for Dusty Baker.

Surprised no one's chimed on Yoenis Cespedes' comments about wanting to finish his career in Oakland. I don't have a problem with the comments themselves, though they did make me wonder about the chemistry in the Mets clubhouse if Cespedes would rather play for a team that's not in contention.

Anybody had the chance to see Matt Chapman play yet? This kid looks like he'll be very good once he establishes some consistency with the bat, as he's already excellent defensively.

Y'all aren't gonna believe this, but Mets RHP Zach Wheeler is on the DL.

    The Dodgers are currently 70-31.

No other NL team has 60 wins.

That's probably going to change with Kershaw on the DL...

If the Red Sox players have a problem with Dennis Eckersley being too critical on-air, fine. But KNOW YOUR PLACE. Don't be a dick to a Hall of Fame pitcher.

    This means you, David Price.

In another surprising move, the Cubs have DFA'd Brett Anderson.

What the hell, they took a shot, it didn't work out.

Marlins 22 - Rangers 10. Is it football season already?

Also, Cubs lead the NL Central by half a game.

Nationals hit four home runs in a row, and if Daniel Murphy had hit one instead of flying out, it would have been six!

Wow, five dingers in one inning. ETA: 8 homers in the game by the Nats is a new record. Not to mention they hammered the Brewers. Now the Cubs just have to "win baby!"

Apparently Adrian Beltre is drunk with power being a few hits away from 3000.

Well...that was bizarre. Beltre was being an ass, but was that really cause for ejection? :wtf:

Mets trade Duda to Marlins Rays for a pitching prospect.

The Rays also get LHP Dan Jennings from the White Sox. They seem to be going for it, so unlikely they trade Archer.

Being in the Hall of Fame doesn't mean you get a free pass to be a jackwagon.
