Madness incoming. You have been warned ;)
It all started last year, when I rediscovered my love for the Star Trek-Actionfigures from Playmates. All I wanted was to expand my collection a bit. Next thing I knew, I was building little Shuttle-Pods out of card and paper for the figures. It was a lot of fun, a nice new hobby. I decided to try something bigger and sat down to create the Bridge of the Enterprise-D (Generations-Variant):

I think it turned out quite nicely. The colors are not exactly screen accurate, but I have to work with what I get.

Yesterday, I finished work on my latest project; the OPS of DS9:

    And a little making of:

Not sure what's next. Maybe the Voyager-Bridge? Enterprise-D Engineering?

Building that engineering set with paper and card would be a nightmare :D

    Excellent!

Somewhere on the back-burner, I have been slowly planning to do something like this for my 4.5" TOS figures, but with plastic sheet material. One of these days I might finally get around to it.

Outstanding work, @Starfury! Or should I say “Hervorragende Arbeit!” (I just noticed the “Siskos Büro” in the bottom right panel. ;)) I love the way you presented these!

That Enterprise-D bridge set is amazing, but as a Niner I'm drooling with excitement over that Ops model. Simply one of my most favorite TV sets, and your recreation seems really detailed. Did you work by eye or with the help of set construction plans? And how long did it take to finish those sets?

BTW, are those custom action figures or did they really release two generic DS9 crewmen?

Also, now I want that Kira action figure. She really looks the part and it would be cool to have a fierce Nana Visitor on my desk.

Wow! These are awesome! I particularly love the playset box scenes: Ro's very unladylike seated position in the first TNG scene; the "girls v boys" scene; the turbulence; and PIcard and Crusher holding hands (and is he touching her bum?!?) in the main crew scene.
The DS9 ones are my favourites, though, especially the cameos from Janeway & Tuvok, and Riker & Troi (love that he's waving!). And the "Making of" is just hilarious! Did O'Brien rope in Seska and Carey from Voyager to help him?

I'd like to see that! There are quite a few custom build TOS-Bridges for Action Figures out there. One of my favorites is this one from D_Weinberg: http://www.instructables.com/id/Star-Trek-Enterprise-Bridge-Playset/
So you shouldn't have problems finding inspirations. :)

    Danke schön! :D
I used a floor plan, lot of screencaps from trekcore and a cutaway-picture from the fact-files (this one: http://www.treksinscifi.com/trekdaily/pictures/2012-03-02_DS9_OPS.jpg) Hence the color-scheme. I just cound't figure out what kind of colors they used in the original set.

The two crewmen are actually from Voyager -Lieutenant Carey and Ensign Seska (Yes, Carey even had an action figure, and they just killed him off in the show :D).
I'm _desperately_ in need for some custom crewmen - especially TNG ones. I'd do a lot more sets, if I could fill them with people. But I have no Idea where to get them. The figures are a bit rare in germany :(

The Kira action figure is just awesome. She's tiny, compared to the others, but she still looks like she means business :D

Thank you! Seska and Carey? Never heard of them. O'Briens Engineers are called Siska and Corey ;D (Yeah, they are from Voyager. But OPS would look totally deserted without them :))

The figures are all over ebay at rather cheap prices. Most sellers are in North America, though...I'm not sure about shipping costs to Germany.

That's simply stunning work on Ops, and your little comic strip had me in stitches. Bravo.

I have to confess, you and your post are responsible for quite the action figure craze in my household.

I started with Kira, then had to get Sisko (both easily have the best likenesses of the characters they're representing), and the idea was just to get my favorite characters. But now I have a parade of Picard, Riker, Geordi, Tasha, Pulaski and the Traveller from The Next Generation, Odo and Dukat (who looks nothing like Marc Alaimo, unfortunately) from Deep Space Nine and Tuvok from Voyager on my bookshelf.

I would love to get Janeway, Kes and Chakotay, too, but boy, why are the Voyager figures so expensive?!

It's a shame, too, that the Enterprise characters aren't available in that style and size. Would love to have Archer, Trip and Hoshi.

I'm sure something like this has been done already. When I did my research, I came across all kinds of TOS-Bridges. No Ops or Voyager-Bridge though.

Haha, they are like chips, right? :D You start with one and... the you want to have them all :D
Try to get the Holo-Doc! He has a fantastic likeness. Janeway is great too and so is Chakotay. Kes... I don't know. I don't have her :/ For some reason she wasn't sold in Germany.
The Dukat-Figure was actually just meant to be a generic cardassian. They changed their minds in the last second and named him Dukat. But yeah, he looks nothing like him. Garak is better. My personal favorite from the DS9-Figures is propably Quark. He has such a great grin :D
