I think he set women back 40 years. Good point, I wasn't thinking the Doctor was still British even in the American Who. Just a silly comment on my part anyway. I wasn't even thinking in those terms, well consciously at least, I just thought pink with yellow polka dots was a suitably garish change for the TARDIS when making that point.
Like I've said before: Star Trek and Doctor Who have a long history of being politically correct SJW stuff. I know which team I'm on.
Where's Rey? That's what someone else asked when I used that pic for my facebook banner. The simple fact is, I'm not that much of a Star Wars fan. I've only got seven of the Star Wars movies, maybe ten video and computer games (and some of those are my wife's from before we met), a few dozen novels, and probably no more than 200 comics. Plus a bunch more in electronic form from Humble Bundle. Compared to how much Star Trek and Doctor Who stuff I have, that's virtually nothing.
That's fair enough. I only ask because the people freaking out over the new Doctor are the same people who freaked out over Rey.
Yeah, it's tempting to add Rey for that reason. And General Leia Organa, too. But Star Wars just isn't really my thing.
After some of Smith's more meh stories, yes, absolutely. Capaldi was nearly always good to very good, but the stories let him down, especially with Clara. @Timewalker you should try a couple of eps of Capaldi's last season. Bill is certainly not Clara.
You do realize that the actress isn't really blonde, right? That much is glaringly obvious. Hm. I'd have to think about that, since I don't get that channel and it would add $$ to my telecom bill. Would the Space Channel episodes air the same night that the CBS.com episodes air? Or would it be like the Handmaid's Tale situation with American Hulu and Canadian Bravo - where we got the episodes a week and a half AFTER the American showing? It was so damned annoying with spoilers - wanting to discuss the show but not being able to see what the American viewers had seen... and by the time I'd seen it, everyone else was talking about the next episode. EDIT: But how was the writing? Adult story, or dumbed-down pseudo-fairy tale stuff? Is it the sort of material that would make me think that an 8-year-old could shoot holes in the science? At any rate, I don't get the Space Channel and would have to have a super-compelling reason to add it. I'm already paying extra for Bravo so I can watch The Handmaid's Tale and a couple of other shows. Otherwise, I'd have to wait until it showed up on Canadian Netflix some day.
Despite a bit of wobble in the middle it was the best series in years and that's coming from someone who's never been a Moffat fan. Seven very good episodes, three OK ones and two terrible ones.
If said people really want to see change in the film and television industry, they need to be the change by getting into the industry and not just acting like over the shoulder creators telling a writer what to put into their stories. It's something that needs to be done a lot more by those who do the demanding, including people like this lady with her organization that should be a production company instead of an organization telling studios/production companies what to do.
They either air at the same time, or an hour later. Will need to double check, but it is at least the same day.
https://www.themarysue.com/jodie-whittaker-trust-me/ Movie starring Jodie Whittaker. Shes going to be in a miniseries about a whistle blowing nurse who gets fired, and has to steal an identity of a male doctor to support herself and her daughter. Haha
That is funny. Not "funny Ha-Ha", but funny in an ironic "Ho-Ho" kind of way. No, wait, let me check. Yes, this is funny "Ha-Ha" as well.
I find it amazing that there are people around who are against social justice. Do they honestly believe that white men haven't been given their fair share for pretty much all of recorded history? They have the attitudes of preschool boys, girls are yucky and ruin their fun. They're like pathetic, whiny entitled manchildren. "But it's not fair. It was always about white guys before, now there is a girl in it and racial minorities. I can't live vicariously through them because I subconsciously consider them inferior. Waa waa waa." Grow up, the world consists on more than just straight, white cis men, you have to share with everyone else. If you don't like it, you have pretty much all of media made before the past few years to enjoy.
Thanks. I'm not concerned about the time, just the day (a lot of shows air an hour or two later here since I'm in the Mountain time zone). I'll think on it. If it's going to air when the new season of Doctor Who is going to be on, that's an incentive to subscribe.
Social justice warriors (in theory) are manic obsessive compulsives. Extremists. Right Wing Assholes (also extremists) seem to call anyone an inch lefter than they are a Social Justice Warrior, when really most of the time these persons are not extremists at all but moderates asking for simple entry level rights and protections.
