I remember as a youngster how proud I was of myself than I knew where "Pure energy" came from and who said it. :)

    ^ Want to share why?

In other news, I'm getting a PET scan tomorrow. I anticipate they will find no pets. And I will be radioactive, so no going near small children and pregnant women. True.

I also have to get my car ready for inspection which means I will be with out it while getting the exhaust fixed. Yay!

Yeah, cars. Fortunately the one I own now is drama-free, so I'm grateful for that. It's a Toyota Camry, I would recommend.

I got a Saturn. It had the exhaust problem when it passed before but everyone is telling me better safe than sorry. I got new tires in March. It runs fine, just loud. LOL!

I hate our office document scanner. It keeps pulling multiple pages through at a time.

When I finally retire / hit it big / convince the Big Boss to spring for a new scanner, there will be a scene right out of Office Space with that thing.

The scanner part is fine - it's the bypass tray that keeps doing that for me (combined scanner/photocopier and printer) - and that's without the paper that has glue around the edges to seal it closed when it's done. Given what uses the glue paper, I could quite happily go all Office Space on it too.

At least it doesn't come up with the PC Load Letter error (even if some numpty has set the default paper option to letter when there isn't any in the building)

I hate it when something comes up/happens between family or friends, it's probably not a big deal but everything you do to try and make it better just makes it worse. You wish you could just stop talking but for some reason you can't. People get upset and cry when all you wan't to do was make it better but you fail spectacularly.

I had radioactive iodine ablation following thyroid surgery. I was told that I'd be emitting radiation for the next couple of days and to avoid crowds and public transportation. I was a bit disappointed when I found out that I didn't glow in the dark and couldn't kill small animals with my touch.

On a completely unrelated note, I don't Facebook, I don't Twitter and I don't Instagram. I have no use whatsoever for those things. Also, I've never understood fraternities and sororities -- why they exist, what purpose they serve, and why anyone would want to join one.

Just had to get that off my chest.

I thought there would be superpowers. Because if I had superpowers I could meet Wonder Woman!

Yes, I am sad and lonely, how did you know?

Weeellll, I get FB, though I beleive the secret is to friend as few people as possible, to keep it manageable. This doesn't necssarily mean parents or even spouse. The others, and the frats, no, no idea, I follow Groucho's statements about clubs.

I don't understand "social" fraternities. They never seem to be good for anything and they most definitely do not create well-socialized people.

There was only one "Greek" organization I ever even considered joining (and did, my last year of college,) and that was the co-ed service organization Alpha Phi Omega.

And really, I joined because I had nothing better to do that night. Also the leader at the time was our D&D GM. Pretty much everybody who joined that year was a gamer, and our activities basically consisted of either raising money / doing stuff for various charities (walking for March of Dimes, building for Habitat for Humanity, etc.), helping out other members who were down on their luck, and sitting around gaming.

There was no hazing, strictly monitored drinking, and a very safe environment in general. (Except we were short on cars, so I spent a lot of time riding around unsecured in a hatchback, which probably wasn't safe at all.)

Additionally, this was the group of people who proved to me that everything I'd ever been told about gay people was a load of religious horseshit.
