The houseguests have been released and we finally have some older houseguests!

But out of the gate, we already have some silliness: Alex, in her Jeff interview, said she'd rather lose and be loved, so she can come back as a vet in another season. She also loves Nicole. She must be evicted first and be as remembered as well as Joey is.

There's a good mix of ages and jobs, so hopefully this season will be not so bland.

Do you have any links to the guests? Any previews of what the house looks like?

Canadians aren't allowed to watch CBS All Access or CBS.com so I can't watch the videos.

The photos of the house are up and... what a nightmare. You'd almost think the Apple computer company paid for the advertising.

I wonder if the HoH bathroom is all-gold?

Hard to judge the cast based on previews only so I'll wait till I see it. Any word on this year's gimmicks yet?

It's being called the "summer of temptation." There will supposedly be a "den of temptation" for which viewers vote on a single houseguest they'd like to see enter. That houseguest must then make a choice, and based on their choice there could be negative consequences for the rest of the house.

I feel neutral about it at this point, sounds like it could be interesting, or it could be a mess. You never can tell with these twists.

Sounds fairly benign, making Pandora's Box a weekly thing. I'm fine with anything that doesn't ruin the elimination strategy.

In the winter season during the writer's strike, when they let one houseguest eliminate two people just like that, I turned it off and didn't watch another episode that season. If it's not any garbage like that or America's player or coup de tat or other junk like that, and they don't bring back the worst most annoying people, I'm fine with whatever.

It appears to be an all-original cast. Of course the older people are going to be eliminated early.

I'm not sure how long I can stand to look at the house, though. It's hideous.

Also helps when the cast is basically likable and not either racist assholes, flaming narcissists or cliquey man and womanchildren who believe they are morally superior to everyone outside their group who is trying to win.

I agree that the house doesn't look very good. I actually really like the designs for BB:OTT, but the changes they've made for this year aren't great.

    Oh, FFS, NO! :scream:

They would have to bring back a former player, and one of the most obnoxious ones, at that. Go home, Paul, you don't need the money and I'm sick of your "friendship" schtick. If they had to bring back a former player, why couldn't it have been someone fun, like James?

That said, there are some new people I already can't stand. The "Thankyoujesus" ones just grate on my nerves. The one who just sat around not-talking to Paul and then got pissed because he wasn't given a friendship bracelet... what a moron. WTF does he expect? In Big Brother, you have to be able to fake friendship if you want to get anywhere. How did he ever expect to be given a bracelet when he acted like a brick wall with an "I hate you" message written on it?

The guy with 7 kids can go home, too. He's got his $25,000, which is more than most players get, and I don't like his attitude.

And that red/pink room is an abomination.

I can't believe they sent the microbiologist home instead of one of the women who was obviously a threat to win physical competitions.

When I saw Paul my reaction was "Oh thank GOD it's not someone worse".

I didn't like Cameron and he probably would have been one of the first ones gone anyway because he can't connect with people, but I hate it when they vote people out without having a chance to really play.

So, drinking games. "Your boy", drink, "Sketch", drink?

Yeah, thank goodness it wasn't Frank or one of the squeaky-voiced/constantly-crying women from recent seasons (too many to mention).

    I don't drink. :p

But one of the phrases that grates on my nerves is "blood on my hands." Forpetessake, it's a game show, not RL murder! You'd think they're really chopping people up, the way they carry on.

There seems to be a lot of military/athlete types this time.

I'm baffled by Christmas' throwing of the challenge then asking for vote. It won't make anyone less physically intimidated by you, and it trades sure safety for a crapshoot.

Really not liking the casting so far this season.

Besides Josh's weird explosion, Cody is just a judgmental asshole who seems like he's going to be set on his "These are the good people, these are the bad people" mindset all season. The other meatheads are better than Cody but still kind of obnoxious And I like the nerd group and I like Christmas but Paul seems like the only one who is interested in actually having any fun.

This might be one of those seasons I quit early. Or at least, if I miss an episode I don't worry too much about making it up. This whole episode left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Paul's already won his prize money, as both the audience favorite and as the runner-up last season. It's not a half-million, but it's still a nice amount of money for basically doing nothing for three months.

Tonight's episode is on in a half hour in my time zone.

Okay, now that I've seen the episode, I agree with you. "Judgmental asshole" describes Cody perfectly, and I think Paul is going to be disappointed in his "gentlemen's agreement." Some people wouldn't know how to keep promises or behave honorably even if they had an army of lawyers to ensure they lived up to the contracts they made with others.

Josh needs to go home before he needs his diaper changed. What a miserable overgrown child.

If anyone is watching any feeds that show what's going on other than the stuff shown on the regular episodes, did anything happen to make some people turn on Megan? Or do they just not like people with blue hair?

I think it started because Josh overheard Megan talking about going after the strong competitors and told the other meatheads. But it turned into something like the way Michelle was treated that season with everyone finding a woman with maybe not the best social skills and bullying her like a high schooler.

Might skip the show for a few weeks then come back and see if any resistance has come up against Team Pick Things Up And Put Them Down.

I guess I'll give it a longer chance. Just it might be fun to watch people manipulate and betray each other but it's no fun at all if they treat each other like garbage in the process.

I am wondering if Cody is a sociopath. You see how he doesn't even worry about talking to people he doesn't deem useful. People like Dan, Will and Vanessa are easy to root for because they manipulate people by being nice to them.
