I did the Battlefront VR mission. It's entertaining. You fly around in an x wing and you can push the various buttons in the cockpit and cause things to happen, all while on patrol for some TIE fighters.

I bought Bridge Crew a few weeks ago, and bought the PSVR with it. Still playing it. The game has encountered a few new bugs since the latest patch roll out yesterday, but it's definitely entertaining. Hoping for some DLC/sequel at some point. From what I understand, the story of the game involves the Aegis searching for a new home for the Vulcan refugees. But again, the story is very, very basic. But the game is still loads of fun to play. Who doesn't want to take a station on the bridge and start pushing buttons?

I enjoy it. I like being a tough-as-nails captain typically. The Aegis cooler (and more advanced) than the original JJ-prise, mind you, which I like telling the fellow players about. I know some complain about the lack of content but keep in mind that VR for the masses is still relatively new and there needs to be some progress done of course. It's immersive from what I know. Some players will go along, sometimes you get insubordinate crewmembers (who I teasingly say that they are to be reprimanded or relieved of duty). I haven't tried the original Enterprise yet, though I've heard that it's rough compared to the Aegis.

I enjoy the game, but would enjoy it more with a TNG or VOY bridge. I feel sorry for players who have to put up with my disasterous command on the bridge.

Well... bit the bullet and bought a Playstation VR bundle along with ST:BC. Both should arrive by 7/31. Going to be a looooong weekend.

For a big TOS fan is it worth getting the HW to play the one game?

Well, I haven't played the game yet so I can't really answer. However most people who have played it are proclaiming it the most immersive Trek game in years, maybe since the days of Bridge Commander or Elite Force. As someone who's played STO since launch I can definitely say it seems more immersive than anything offered there.

There are two downsides at present. First the hardware purchase price. Hard to get around that one. Either you buy the VR headset for the PS4 which could cost more than the PS4 itself. Or you buy VR gear for your gaming PC and said PC needs to meet the minimum required specs in order to run VR.

Second downside is somewhat limited content. There is a campaign which provides a couple hours of gameplay, along with tutorials on the various stations. After that you'll be looking at the random mission generators with multiplayer. By all reports, those missions can get repetitive after you've put many hours into them. Some who've played the game have said that playing on the Abramsverse Aegis ship is almost like playing a completely different game compared to the TOS Constitution class.

For someone like myself, whose been waiting for this kind of immersive experience for years, the upsides out weigh the downsides. But it really boils down to what you're wanting in a game like this. There's been speculation/hope that DLCs are released with more content, more ships, also TNG era ships and bridges. Ubisoft has not confirmed any of this will take place however.

it is also worth mentioning that PSVR for PS4 is not the same experience as the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive with a beefy PC, those are more expensive but also more premium experiences

If you have a PC that can run Vr then grab a DK2 headset, they work perfectly with games like Elite and STBC and are a fraction of the cost of the finished retail Rift/Vive versions.

I have a question, can someone please tell me which starships appear in this game other than the two main ones.
I have not been able to find any information about the game's content online, neither on Wikipedia or on Bridge Crew's own wiki which remains unfinished.

You only get two ships to controll at present, The Aegis and TOS Enterprise, but apart from that ship wise, via the view screen in missions, you will see some klingons, pirate, freighter and a few other fed ships, and all are somewhat generic ships.

I wonder if this could be done easily with Bridge Crew?
Combat-free mode makes Assassin’s Creed: Origins incredibly easy to explore
Education-focused mode literally turns the difficulty level down to zero.

Trekkies could explore the ship then, not just the bridge.
as a combat-free museum as free DLC

One would have to assume that they'd modeled anything beyond the bridge, but seeing as it's a sit-down experience, I rather doubt the engine's coding would make it capable. It would need to be more like Pulsar: The Lost Colony where you can move around freely for it to be possible.
