I'm starting to get a tiny bit annoyed with the Witcher 3. The world is so big and the missions are so spread out that it is taking forever to actually do anything, and they are just so complicated that it can be hard to accomplish anything in shorter playing sessions. I only play for an hour or two at a time, and it seems like I spend half my time riding from place to place and fighting the occasional random enemies. I've been through a few quests, but not as many as I would like.
AC: Syndicate on the other hand, has a ton of stuff in a much more contained area, so it feels like I'm accomplishing a lot more in a shorter time.

Currently doing Deus Ex Mankind Divided after neglecting it for ages and I am playing with keyboard / mouse but can't get the hang of icarus dash. It's like Blink in Dishonored.

Fast Travel helps (a little) with that but if I remember rightly, you need to have been to the location earlier:(
I do know that I set aside a little more time at the weekends to work my way through it. I'm doing the same with Witcher 2 (at least until I get sidetracked with other games)

Yeah, fast travel is good for back tracking, but you need go to the signpost first in order to open the fast travel option.

My biggest problem was some of the sailing. Some of those journeys seemed to take forever:(

At least on land, I had Roach, and at least in some cases absolutely refused to stop for anything. At sea, I couldn't always outrun the harpies:(

My sister gave me back my Wii U, so I've been replaying Super Mario 3D World and really enjoying the Captain Toad levels, so I went out and bought Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Switch. I'll probably check out Captain Toad for a little bit tonight and check out Mario Kart afterward :)

And Steam issues continue to add to my list to play:lol:.

I've just added Arkham Knight, Ryse, Deadpool to my list and I'm looking at a few others. The store is dragging a bit for me though:(

Annoyed though that you have to start right at the very beginning if you die in the first part. I got killed by the two rotating thingies you meet on a bridge.

Definitely want to finish that first level but geez. It kills me that the game drags you back to the beginning.

Breath of the Wild -- I love this game so much. Finally took down a pesky Guardian scout shrine. And got some better weapons and am working on gathering more ingredients.

Spent hours tonight with friends on "Overcooked" a wonderful indie co-op game about working in a kitchen (weird ones to say the least). Not had so much fun on a game like that in ages. Oh we also completed Mario Bros U 4 player ;)

If you don't know what Overcooked looks like

I have a friend who is a chef and have so shared that with her. Be interesting to see what she thinks too as she likes some games.

Going to try some of Rise of the Triads later today, but I'll probably mostly continue with Arkham City.

(I've also given Arkham Knight and Deadpool a quick go just to make sure they work.) Alpha Protocol is being a bit iffy, but it has worked previously so I'll have to have a look at that too.

It'll be the new (well, 2013 ish I guess) one. I do have the original one (or demo of) on disk somewhere but thought I'd give the updated one a go.

Post back with some thoughts. I'd love to know if they updated anything like the graphics and sound.

Well, from two minutes in, graphics are definately updated (Haven't had any flying eyeballs yet) and the music is different (though according to a couple of sites you can choose to have the old music if you so wish).

The first level doesn't remotely resemble the first level of the original as far as I can remember though. I'll mention more after I get further into it.

Well, a little bit further into Rise of The Triads 2013 and so far, it's a bit meh:(
Yeah, it's an old school style FPS, but I seem to remember enjoying the original more. There is an option in the menu for the older music, but I haven't tried it (nor gone dog mode yet). Some of the animation is a bit crap too.

Ryse, Son of Rome. Played about half an hour of it and I think it's going to get a bit same old, same old. That said, it is fun so far and looks quite good. (Leontius seriously reminds me in appearance of an actor, but his name or works aren't coming to mind right now - it's not his voice actor though)

Arkham Knight. I just loaded it to make sure it worked, but ended up finishing the dlc of A Matter of Family. Enjoyed it, but now it's back to Arkham City where I've just gotten to the GCPD offices for the first time.

That's more or less what I've been finding with these modern remakes. The original Shadow Warrior remake for instance I found pretty dull and repetitive. It felt a bit too restrained compared to the original in its humour. I can see what they were trying to do, but if a game is so far unrecognizable to the original versions, then what's the point, really? They're more like reinterpretations on a theme using the same name. Kind of makes me curious to see how the remake of the original System Shock is going to compare to the original.
