What was the first ST movie you ever saw in theaters?

That was the first movie I saw and we did that as a school outing. It was fun

TMP. I was pretty young then and the gruesome depiction of the transporter accident horrified me quite a bit.

 

The Wrath of Khan, I was lucky my local theater was showing it. This was before Star Trek: Beyond.

 

If I remember right, it was "First Contact" in an overcrowded theater where we got in at the scene where Picard was with Lilly showing her the forcefield where there is no glass window and telling her she could jump out, or whatever it was. Which I took literally as a 5 year old or whatever I was so I assumed she could go through space and land on Earth.

 

Wasn't that part of the ship a cargo space, so that's why they had no "window?" There were lots of windows on that Enterprise so can't imagine them all being force fields.

 

ST: TMP, seven times actually (well at least going to the movies was cheaper then, lol).

 

I remember thinking how excellent all the model work in TMP was, and even today those ship models are totally bad ass.

 

The Voyage Home, fell asleep.

 

Insurrection. And I have to say that at the time I left the theatre feeling a bit disappointed. It’s only in later years that I started to appreciate the movie.

I remember my dad saying Voyager was way better. It’s probably one of the reasons why the TNG movies weren’t as successful as those from the TOS crew. There was just way too much competition with Trek on TV.

 

Star Trek: Generations. My best friends dad took us both to see it opening weekend. I would have been 12.

 

Me too. I have never been able to appreciate that one, I'm afraid. I avoid it to this day.

 

TUC. I was 14, guess that makes me a late bloomer with all the 4 year olds watching ST.
If I had seen TWOK at age 5, I probably would've been scared. Seeing Scotty's crispy nephew probably wouldn't have been good for me.

 

TSFS. Loved every minute of it and the intro recap was plenty for those who may have missed out at the time. Would be redundant now in the age of home video, though...

If I knew of TWOK at the time, I doubt I'd have been allowed to go because the tone of it is definitely not for the kiddies (gore, and concepts that go over the heads of kids).

 

Feels like a lifetime ago and at the same time like almost yesterday...

 

Nemesis. Being a kid it was great fun. Started me down the road as a fan of Tom Hardy.

 

TMP. It had been out for a few weeks, and since I was too young to drive, I had to rely on my parents to get me to a theater to see it. Otherwise I wouldn't have waited that long.

 

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. I was 11. I didn't like it. It was too dark compared to what I had seen in TOS, TNG, and the earlier movies.

 

TMP, opening night. I had to go out of state to catch a showing. I was 14, and it was the BEST.

 

Mine was Star Trek 6. I was a fast fan of The Next Generation on television, that's what made me a fan. But I never saw the fifth movie in theaters because I was too young (6 years old) at that time. I was a little older when The Undiscovered Country rolled round. Strangely I don't remember ever seeing Generations in theaters, only on VHS, but I watched them all in theaters from First Contact onwards.
