Love the new video and the design concept. It's a great way to showcase the new ship and it's capabilities in a brief way.
It appears that Enterprise era uniforms will also feature in Pacific 201. They are the same ones as seen in Star Trek Horizon.
I love the look and feel of the entire production. I like the very nautical derivation of the Romulan, ship, as well as the extrapolation of Romulan designs. I really look forward to seeing more of this production, as well as all of the uniforms, ships and design work.
That's a navy blue NATO jumper under their modifications, I used to wear that itchy monstrosity at work - at one point it was a ubiquitous part of the British military and police uniforms although it's now largely been replaced. Given that it has 'shoulders' already built in and a general military cut to it I think it's a really clever low cost method of creating a Starfleet uniform. I like what I'm seeing of this production so far, I look forward to seeing more!
So much detail and effort put into the Pacific's design (and it's great!). But how much of it's going to be relevant to the plot of the short film?
The Pacific 201 is a great looking ship and I like the fact that the designer has put a hell of a lot of thought and work into it. He seems to look at the ship more from a engineering standpoint rather than an artistic one. That said, I don't agree that greebles make for a more realistic design. Matt Jefferies had it right by placing all the equipment inside the ship so that repair crews wouldn't have to go EV to fix stuff.
The modular design of several features is one of my favorite parts. It's a concept that I think has been missing in starship design for a while, and this idea executes it very well. Thank you for sharing!
