Nintendo going to the top of my Shit List. They said numerous times last Christmas that they would fulfill demand. God damn them then. They haven't produced any decent software since the N64 era.

    Even better solution.

I wanted one of these, but will probably never get one.

The problem, I think, is that they simply aren't making enough money at $60 per system to keep selling them rather than replacing them with some other product with a better profit margin.

"Some other product" being the Switch.

They increased Switch production so it could be that, or an SNES mini, whatever they need the production line for.

There's no "could be" involved. It's the Switch. There is nothing else Nintendo is ramping up production capacity for--we'd know about it if so.

Christ, I wouldn't take a Switch if it was free. Just, the new software man. Doesn't compare. SPCTRE put the idea in my head, I'm going to find a power cord for my old system and see if I can't get it working on the HDTV.
The real novelty for the NES mini was the look/feel and the portability. Y'know, even if they sold them at $100/per unit, people would still buy them hand over fist. Fucking corporate stooges.

^ Funny that you mention Roseanne specifically, because it looks like that series may be in line for a restart.

Yep, and like Nintendo and their perennial market shenanigans, I'm looking forward to what's next, despite past experiences. :D

I picked up a UK version of the NES classic. Just need to get a plug converter and I'm in busiess.

Also picked up a switch at Best Buy for the wife. She loves it, as does our 16 year old son. He's having fun with Mario Kart.

Not a crazy twist -- it's the 3DSXL form factor's final gasp before rigor mortis sets in, Nintendo just stripped the 3D hardware out of it. The company's burning off component inventory.

Just a bitter old consumer-curmudgeon. It's the nostalgia from the 8 bit games, that's all I want. The Switch made me think, "I already have a cell phone. Why have two?" ;)

No, and neither can the Switch for another six or seven months, at least...
