Hey mates...this is my idea of the Romulan "A-Type" Warbird, seeing as the D'deridex is considered as "B-Type". She is the sister ship of the D'deridex, in the same way the Nebula is the sister to the Galaxy. I envision her at some 800m long.[IMG]

Oh, cool! I would have loved to have seen some more Romulan ships, and this one would fit right in nicely. Thoughtful and beautiful work, as always, Atolm.

    Thanks!

    Thanks mate :)

Aye it was assumed that D'deridex was designated as "B-Type Warbird" by Picard in the ep "the Defector" I think?

    Thank you.

Thanks bro...I love to design for the Romulans.

    Thank you.

    Thanks :)

Thanks for fielding that question for me :)

    Thanks!

    LOL...Thanks!

Really good design, so artistic and elegant, just like the D'deridex.

I love the carapace look--reminds me just a tad of Sarris ship from Galaxy Quest.

Here's an idea. Atolm's take on the Doomsday Machine.

I have long believed that the only part of the DDM that was manufactured was the interior. That the hull was a Neutronium spike, a huge and massively rare one, that some white dwarf star kicked out a very long time ago, and was either found, or dragged out by those that built it into the DDM for that purpose.

What I call a Neutronium spike is a cone of Neutronium spat out by a white dwarf. My headcanon describes them as about the size of a sewing needle, usually, and weighing several hundred to several thousand pounds. How the builders of the DDM could have dragged one out of a white dwarf that was the size it was, I have no idea. But it explains a lot about how it looks.

I like the spiked one best of all. The rest too much give off a vibe of being manufactured, while the original looked more like it was grown and, thus, more alien. I think that was the power of the original design, because even now it still looks like something that shouldn't be possible at all. I think the one with the tubes going around the hull could be a nice design if it was a hybrid mechanical/organical device, with the tubes being the organic part. Well, thinking about it made me creative. Something like this:
