And what? His character switched places with Tyler, who's now starting to remember his former Klingon life but maybe likes his new one better? Make-up problems, but they liked the guy and wanted to keep him anyway. Called it.
So here is how it stands Klingon character wise (sorry I just love Klingon news): Kol - Commanding Officer, protege of T'Kuvma T'Kuvma - Leader trying to unite Klingons L'Rel - Battle Deck Commander, Kol's confidant Dennas - A leader among the Klingons Ujilli - A leader among the Klingons And we hope they will look something like this in makeup!: Good luck with production! K'pla!
Not sure if you're joking, but I would love to see all styles of Klingons used. I seem to be the only one that recalls the old fanon explanation from the late 80's or so that said the Klingon Empire truly was an empire, and included several different species that all went by the name "Klingon". Add to this the Soong virus thing, and you've got something interesting.
A new news article has been published at TrekToday: Five new actors have been added to Star Trek: Discovery. Three of the new actors will be playing Klingons. The actors are:... Continue reading...
So, they're casting actors and continuing production just as one would expect any well-organized TV series to do. None of the hand-wringing online about "problems" makes any sense. CBS isn't hand-feeding fans PR tidbits to get them worked up? Quelle horreur!
Generally speaking the "journalists" at io9 can't find their asses with both hands. It's clickbait with self-important delusions.
I sure hope Rekha Sharma gets better writing than she did on Battlestar Galactica. Tory was one of my least favorite characters (really, only Blanders was worse). Since I haven't seen her in anything else, I hope Tory was terrible because of the writing and not because of her performance because I couldn't tell. Is anyone else tired of the font style for the official cast announcements? It's so damn hard to read the actors' names. Meh. I've long since stopped taking io9 seriously, which is a shame considering they're a decent news source for science-fiction and fantasy projects. I'm just so sick of their hyperbolic bullshit. The intention is to get more readers, but I'm sure it's also driven away a fair number, too.
She's always played a hardass (borderline psychopathic) in everything that I've seen her in bar BSG. Either way I'm happy to see her in this.
Very nice to see Rekha Sharma again in something. I really liked Tory on BSG. A small role, but I like what she did with it. The other guys from the announcement look cool, too. Looking forward to see their performances in the show. Yes, definitely! It's a poor attempt at an homage to the original series font, that just looks broken.
Well, who are the main cast members on Game of Thrones? My guess is that Discovery will be less like TNG-era Trek with a fixed cast of a limited number of people and more like modern shows with huge casts where even minor characters can suddenly become the focus of a major storyline. I think XO Michael Burnham will be the only constant of the show, with the other characters being second to her. But I guess we'll have to wait and see …
Is this supposed to make anyone feel better? Besides, don't be absurd - Garrett Wang was Harry Kim right from the get-go. She was also a Visitor double-agent inside the FBI on the new short-lived "V" TV series - but there really wasn't enough time for us to get any sort of feel for her character. Felt like a BSG Tory redux, started to make me worry that the problem was the actress and not her BSG role. I need to watch that Star Trek Continues episode, though.
Rekha Sharma appeared as Kali in the 5th season SUPERNATURAL episode "HAMMER OF THE GODS". I thought she was quite good as Kali, a fact I commented to her when I met her years ago at DragonCon. There can be several reasons why the actor playing Kol was recast... part of the story like cloning gone wrong, infiltration... or the actor ended up being allergic to the makeup, or he was so good he was cast in a more prominent role. I can understand the flip side, though, of this being an indication of some issues. I'm trying to think of any other genre series recently that has been plagued with as many delays or problems...
