It's impressive that other than Odo, Sisko held his own to warrant three Jem’hadar wariors to swarm him when everyone else can barely fight them off.

DS9 was pretty big on the close quarters combat when phasers aren't enough.

    It's all about the anger.

The Sisko packs a punch because he has a lot of anger about life, and he holds a lot of it in most of the time. When we first meet him in "Emissary", he's suffering from a bad case of internalizing the anger about his wife's death, and through the 7 year course of the show we see heaped on that a shuttle-load of new reasons to just be really pissed off. Bottle up all that stuff for decades , and one of these days it'll come out as a raw, untapped can of whup-ass on somebody or something. The anger manifests as adrenaline, which means every punch packs a whallop and a half.

Even the so-called 'perfect' 24th century human is not above such things.

Oh, sorry, I was thinking of Shattered Mirror not Broken Link. It's easy to get breaking things mixed up.

Sisko mentions he was Academy wrestling champ for a few years in his youth in the ep when they go undercover as Klingons (he beats a Klingon warrior in a grappling match) so he's probably got high upper body strength. Remember the Academy includes races with greater than human strength...

Didn't help him against Solok back in the day.

What we probably don't realize is that by the 24th Century, traditional Greco-Roman wrestling had been taken over by WWE-style pro-wrestling. That basically explains how team-captain Captain Sisko could throw a punch and look awesome doing it, how he mastered the laughably Trekesque "double-fist blow" that most Starfleeters of the era used, and also leverage his baseball bat swinging into a match. He was only defeated by Solok because there were no tables he could hit the Vulcan with - they were all screwed into the ground.

Yes, Sisko packs some mighty punches, but another DS9 character, Worf, is the strongest of them all!

I have it on good authority that Sisko's punching strength was over 9000...

They say 9000 is roughly equivalent to the strength of a kick.

I initially read that as 'the strength of a Kirk.'

Which would be wrong, because the strength of a Kirk is unmeasurable.

    Dont be silly.

It was Picard that whooped Tuvok.:p

Kirk punches with the power of 3 kicks, making his power approximately 27000.

You're thinking of that time Tuvok went undercover as a mercenary...This is the time Tuvok went undercover as a Klingon mercenary...Unless this was Tuvik, Tuvok's half brother...

Aren't all the DS9 crew exceptional fighters? In Way of the Warrior hordes of Klingon fighters board the station and the crew proceed to steal their bat'leths and smack the shit out of them. Kira gets stabbed and still wallops some Klingon asshole into unconsciousness,

...I can only imagine this scenario once Tuvok came back to the Alpha Quadrant:

Starfleet Admiral: Tuvok, we have an undercover assignment-Wait, don't leave! This one won't end badly! We swear! :(

Yep. Heroes generally have untapped resources of strength and skill that appear when the story needs it most.

It's funny. You got these Klingons or Jem Hadar. Every facet of their existence is devoted to combat of every kind. Trained to fight from birth...

You'd think they might have some kind of advantage over these tea-sipping humans who don't even go jogging in the morning, but all that training profits them nothing. They just get taken out with the rest of the trash. I bet even Admiral Ross could take out a few Klingons in a fistfight.

Kira probably more combat experience than any two Klingons put together.
