I hope there is an explanation for season 2's alien ex machina's. Worst part of the series, really hurt season 2 for me. Much better show without them imo.

I'm hoping there will be reveals that'll make me like them retroactively.

The producers have stated there won't be an explanation, they were bascically just added for weirdness sake.

Weirdness, and so whenever they wrote themselves into a corner all they had to do was "Bring in the aliens!" to solve the problem.

Basically yeah, I guess. Something about weirdness and 70's UFO paranoia, interview didn't make all that much sense to me but I still loved season 2, so it didn't bother me much.

In that particular part of the USA at that time period there was a significant increase in UFO sightings, and in North Dakota there was a case of a Sherrif driving around, becoming distracted by what he believed to be a UFO and driving his car off the road.

I think Hawley was upping the Coen-ism Absurdism (something ludicrous starts the dominoes falling towards and grander, epic finale) whilst adding a piece of local folklore into the mix.

He's a genuine creative talent and I'll give him a very long leash when it comes to the more esoteric and confusing elements of his work. Plus, frankly, not everything that happens to or around us has to make sense, but rather how we react to it.

Hugo - It's just a flying saucer, Ed, we gotta go!

I loved season one, but I really, really, really loved season two. Man, can wait for the next one.

Seems like April is going to be a great month if you're a fan of great TV.

The recent teaser commercials have been great. Is it April 19th yet?

The only piece of media I am genuinely excited for this year.

    Hugo - Kenobi owns this

I kind of regret watching the trailers, with both year one and two, we went in blind and loved them both, having watched the trailer for year three, I hope I haven't ruined it. Of course it will be brilliant, flying saucers and all!

First episode stretches the limits of the 'These events actually happened' conceit a bit more than the first two seasons.

Oh I don't know, as I understand these things, rare stamps can be worth a large amount of cash and Bridge seems to be a popular game, but yeah, having a Police Chief that doesn't like swearing, that stretches the creditability for me.

On a more serious not, to this Englishmans ear, Ewan has the local accent and mannerisms that go down with it very well, the whole prologue with the Starsi officer I am very curious about, it's a shame though that Ewan McGregors name wasn't in the credit's twice.

As cute as that would be, no doubt there is a rule in the SAG that forbids it, plus could require supplementary remuneration.

Hugo - but it would be the perfect Fargo thing to do
