Not sure if it works across all platforms, but apparently there is a temporary fix

(I can't try it myself as I'm still waiting on release here but if it works for now til there's a proper fix, I guess it'll do)

I've decided to refer to the Kett as the Rock Lobsters.

You know what a bloody quick save slot or two for when you have to leave in the middle of a mission. Is that too fucking hard to do? Also waiting before I buy this but that shits me off when that happens.

Just put 4 hours into it on a PS4pro and honestly, the whole bug issue really does seem blown out of proportion. Yes, ive encountered a few minor bugs or animation glitches, but nothing worthy of the attention they are getting online. The game looks great and feels like Mass Effect, and that's all I wanted. What ever minor issues exsist are far from game ruining and will surely be fixed within weeks. Being a Mass Effect fan, I couldn't fathom waiting on the game over such things. And seriously, waiting on the price to go down? Honestly, any game that can promise to deliver over 50 hours of enjoyable content is well worth the price at launch. Plus, as a Bioware fan, I want to support my favorite developer. I don't want EA to pull another Dead Space and claim lack of revenue. So please, if you are a Mass Effect fan, buy the game. You won't regret it. Don't let the fear of few bugs ruin the experience of a new Mass Effect game!

They wouldn't even bother showing the drink being poured in the other Mass Effects. Someone would tip the bottle, put it down and then pick up an empty glass and "drink" from it.

Don't forget that infamous invisible rock from ME 3 that one character was holding while talking.

So does Andromeda feature any save transferring at all? I played the original trilogy on Xbox 360 but I don't have it anymore, right now I've got a PS4. Well, and a PC with no video card, so I can't go back and play the originals on that, either.

Nope. You're 600+ years removed from the events of the original trilogy and in another galaxy (and left prior to the events of ME3) so none of it has any bearing on Andromeda. You only pick Shepard's gender during character creation.

Is anyone else finding it hard to care about any of these characters? a few hours into ME1 I was already gung ho on board with everyone, these guys...I can barely tell some of them apart.

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't have any real story impact, I just wasn't sure if there might be any extra dialogue or Easter eggs. Cool, thanks.

So I started with a default Scott just to get the lay of the land and try stuff out, got past Eos, and just wasn't feeling him as a character, so I deleted him tonight, rolled a default Sara, and figured because she's so dorky looking, I'd play her as a 100% logical/professional engineer tech nerd. :) Hopefully by the time I'm done with her they'll have improved the CC a bit and I'll try a custom emotional/casual melee vanguard wielding the asari sword. :bolian:

Got in about 1.5 hours last night to check it out and it was ok so far but i totally messed up the character's face.. was going for Idris Elba and got a bad version of Kanye

So i'll be restarting the game and maybe go for a stock face.. i don't care about these features in any Rpg but i guess people like these so they are included.

I have a pretty good PC but the game still glitches from time to time so i guess it needs some finetuning via Patches which is to be expected. So far it looks like ME, combat feels familiar and i'm looking forward to the full scope once i'm past the initial mission.

Well, I bit the bullet and went out and bought a copy for PS4 today after work. The technical glitches sound slightly overblown, but hey, if MEA was intended to be sort of a spiritual successor to ME1, technical glitches are part of the deal. :p

Oh for god's sake my nice long post about my frustrations with the game has been eaten by the back button. HOW FRUSTRATING. :D :D

I think that's actually just finished my weird day off nicely.

    I'll sum up:

    Frustrating:
    • Characters just aren't as interesting as the originals, so it's hard to be invested in some parts of the story. Oh and for that matter put enemies in the same column.
    • Learning new combat style/controls after playing through original ME trilogy in preparation. That along with dodgy ducking and the lack of squadmate control made it feel like a totally new game for the first few hours.
    • Jumping up and around monoliths, or jumping around looking for new locations far, far away is too repetitive.
    • Switching from planet to planet on the galaxy map takes too long.
I have been playing for 12-13 hours though, and despite really feeling like throwing the controller at the Xbox on several occasions, there has been enough to keep me coming back:
    • The game is absolutely gorgeous. Being visually appealing helps to make up for some of the repetitiveness.
    • The game has a big scope - building up colonies from scratch, finishing off side missions on other planets, and of course the Nexus is wonderfully realised. Like the Citadel on crack, perhaps?
    • The Tempest is an interesting variation on the Normandy. There were still nooks and crannies I never realised I hadn't visited for a few hours. Similar experience to the Nexus really.
    • It's a Mass Effect game, and though this set of people has no idea how the Reaper war ended, we're getting lots of mentions of past events, and references to the cultures that we've known and loved in the past.
So all in all, I'm on the fence. I can't help but think if I'd actually been at work the last couple of days, I doubt I'd have actually carried on with the game. I really hope that when I pick it up again, I'll carry on battling through the frustrating bits, and still see the game I want to play. ;)
