11 Little Nifty Visual Details you never noticed in Star Trek

I knew about some of these, but this makes me want to look more closely at the episodes again. Like I knew that James Doohan was missing a finger, and someone said you could see it in "Enemy Within" Episode, but I can never catch it in that episode and didn't know you can see it more clearly when Scotty is carrying the Tribbles. I will look for it.
I had heard that William Shatner's names was bigger than anyone elses. I also knew that Star Trek met the Andy Griffith show when they did "City On The Edge of Forever"

Two corrections: The Doomsday Machine also features actors walking in front of the rear projected view screen. And the last picture is from DS9: Trials and Tribble-ations, not TOS.

 

I have a little quibble about the last screenshot, which I am pretty sure is from the DS9 episode "Trials and Tribbleations". Perhaps this is best answered by people like Feek61, who have studied the original sets and even helped recreate them, but was "GNDN" ever actually seen onscreen in TOS Trek? I have read that they were there as in-jokes, but so small as not to be visible.

 

In "The Doomsday Machine," actors don't walk in front of a moving starfield; the image is static." So the Heroes and Villans article is actually correct

 

#7 is an old bottle of #12.

This was enjoyable to read and was interesting too.

 

I'll say. It wasn't error-ridden. A much better piece than the typical thing we see.

 

#2 is not true, as oft repeated as the claim is. I've seen a very detailed behind the scenes photo of the Fesarius model and those ain't halved ping pong balls. That MIGHT be the case for the small scout ship Balok uses to tow the Enterprise, but not the big ship.

#9 is wrong, too. See the Defiant crew in "The Tholian Web".

There isn't one.

 

There do seem to be some half-spheres in the Fesarius model, but if they are ping-pong balls there are also some smaller spheres connecting them.

 

The dead crew laying about in sickbay have the arrowhead insignia.

 

They're flattened domes, not hemispheres. I can assure you of that.

 

Blalock's appearance in the end credits is timed to coincide with Herb Solow's name, as a joke.

I think I remember that from the Inside Star Trek book, so hopefully accurate enough. I did double check the credits on Youtube and that's where he appears.
