    Hello guys,

Thanks for all the likes and replies.
Absolutely true and I don't think it is only true of this episode. Think of THE KILLING GAME or BODY AND SOUL, for example. In INFINITE REGRESS, my favourite "personality" was the Ferengi in the Astrometrics lab. That scene is hilarious even if the subject matter of the episode is a serious one.
Hi, TTF, haven't seen you in a while. So you don't like BLOOD FEVER? It is my third favourite ep in the entire show. I've seen it like a hundred times (this morning for the last time :D). But how could I not like it when it is (partly) about Tommyboy? :luvlove: Anyway, I really like Vorik, I think that he is a different kind of Vulcan than Tuvok. Stiffer and with less humour (I do think that Tuvok is funny) but a good one.
And obviously you still haven't warmed up to Harry, have you? I don't like the idea of getting rid of main characters so I definitely wouldn't have liked to see him go. But Vorik would have been more than welcome if TPTB had decided to make him a series regular.
Still, I am of the opinion that of all the guest characters we saw on VOY, Rain Robinson from FUTURE'S END would have been the best addition. I thought she was great and commenting on the 24th century from a 20th century perspective would have been fun.

On a somewhat different note, whenever I watch BLOOD FEVER, I keep wondering what that Borg drone we see at the end must have been doing on that planet. Isn't the Nekrit Expanse some kind of barrier that is too dangerous even for the Borg? Or did they just make forays into the Expanse and seeing how dangerous it was, they decided to leave it alone? Or am I getting this wrong?

Oh, I can relate to that. Perhaps their personalities were too different, perhaps Vulcans simply don't want to make friends. God knows. What I know for sure is that if I got stuck on Voyager with people from Earth, I wouldn't necessarily make friends with the other Hungarians just because they are my countrymen. Maybe I would like their personality less than that of some other people. I would surely try it in the beginning but they might just turn out not to be the sort of people I'd want to spend my spare time with so I would try to make friends with people from other countries.

In addition to the "sheep", I would have loved to see more of the Maquis guys in LEARNING CURVE and the remaining EQUINOX crew. I sometimes watch episodes like DEADLOCK and keep thinking "oh yes, there are now two Mortimer Harrens as well ... how would they get along if they met?" Or I might watch PREY and think "ouch, there's an 8472 aboard - how does Kenneth Dalby react to that?" etc. Perhaps there's even some fan fiction about this somewhere on the Internet, I don't know.
But of all the characters we saw on VOY, I really would have loved if they had kept Suder alive after BASICS and had shown us more of how it was going for him after saving the ship. That would have been super interesting, I think.

Regarding Tuvok and Vorik being friends, or not, that thought has crossed my mind. And what I find is that Neelix was Tuvok's token nerd ... he didn't need another one in Vorik. But if Vorik were on the bridge crew and a regular cast member, then yes ... a reason would have to given for Tuvok and Vorik's lack of association. Preferring the company of Janeway would not have been good enough. It wouldn't have to be a bad reason, or anything, but audiences would say, "... why don't we ever see those Vulcans hang out?" An age difference reason, perhaps?

Surprising, as I'd been posting quite heavily in VOY, for a while, there. Whilst I was enjoying it, the Holidays were most distracting and quite enjoyable! And I've been pursuing other, outside interests that have nothing to do with STAR TREK, ever since. But I've been around, to the relief of some ... and chagrin of others.

I like aspects of Blood Fever. I like the over-the-topness of it all, but my favourite bit is when the EMH plays pimp to a Holographic cutey, solicited to take the edge off Vorik's Pon Farr. And then, when everything's said, done and finished, that wonderful turbolift scene with Tom & B'Elanna and her cute, little warning as the elevator doors close behind her was very charming. But I guess I just wish some other agent had been responsible for BLOOD FEVER than Vorik's having, somehow, imposed Pon Farr on Torres. Replace Pon Farr with, oh .... let's say ... cold bloodedness and the stupidity of the idea is magnified all the more. Trekkies might love that but I don't buy it. Doesn't mean I don't love B'Elanna, shows, because I do. I just can't get onboard for some elements of this story.

The way that Garret Wang talks, in interviews, that's how Harry should've been, maybe. Instead, he makes Kim seem like he's got a board up his back, or he's constipated, or some shit. He's not all that interesting, until he's freaking out, like at The Good Captain, demanding to know, "... have you ever been in love???" Or when he's pissed at Tuvok for stealing his Holographic girlfriend. Then he's all animated and shit like that, but it's often about the wrong things. It just makes it hard getting into the character. He means well. He's harmless. But after that, he's just a waste of space.

I'm in complete agreement about Rain Robinson. But ... most actors just want STAR TREK on their résumé, without making a lifestyle out of it. Sarah Silverman seemed to fall into that category. She was young, beautiful, talented and her star was on the rise ...

You should ask Guy that, he's extremely knowledgable about such things. Or Téa -- she'd be able to give the definitive answer on something like that.

    Sounds mysterious ... Nothing life-threatening, I hope ...
    :D:D:D
    Such as?
I quite like him the way he is. I mean there is at least one person among the main characters who does not disguise the fact that being stuck in the Delta Quadrant sucks. All the others seem to be quite happy. I thought it was a good idea to have someone who would jump at the slightest opportunity to get home. And who does not hide the fact that he isn't enjoying himself that much in the DQ.
Well ... do you know for sure that she was offered the chance and declined? Because if you don't, you can't know that, can you? From what I read about her how she had often stayed on the sets watching Kate Mulgrew although she was told she should go home makes me think she very much wanted to be part of the show, just there was no opportunity for her to do so.
I might. Or someone who reads this here might explain it. But thanks, anyway for pointing me in the right direction.

I can tell you, with great confidence, that my personal safety is absolutely assured! My friends and I have a garage band we call The Plunkers. I play bass, acoustic & electric guitars, write songs and I sing. But nobody's prepared to live out of their cars, until we get "discovered." We jam, that's all. Also ...

I'm currently in the process of trying to obtain a legal permit as an amateur fossil collector. Pennsylvania has many hills and some low mountains, all of which have pushed up and disintegrated the earth dinosaur fossils resided in. We're basically walking on the dirt the dinosaurs walked on, so we've got a lot of fish and salamander bones and shit like that ... some dinosaur tracks. I've loved dinosaurs, since I was a kid. I love the first Jurassic Park and have always wanted to be Robert Muldoon! "Shoot her! ... Shoot ... HERRRRRRrrrrrrrr!!!!" My father has a very impressive arrowhead collection from his amateur digs at Native American sites, so he kind of inspired me. I have other interests, to be sure ... but there never seems to be enough time, does there?

BLOOD FEVER is a fun episode, there's a lot of outrageousness in it. But even if Vorik is supposed to be a pussy and got his ass kicked by Torres, I don't enjoy seeing Men swinging punches at women ... much less landing any. I mean, I get it. It's so obvious what they were going for, but it makes me uncomfortable. That's one thing. And, uh ... yeah, missteps were made in that episode.

You're not alone! Tom Paris likes him, too. Hell, he even let him knock up Linnis (!!!). Still ... Harry Kim could've been handled a bit differently, without losing any of that, possibly. I wouldn't have minded seeing him grow a pair of balls -- you know? The Delta Quadrant sucks, undoubtedly, but when you cry, Thomas ... you cry alone. Kim's advertising that he's a miserable bastard ... now, who's that going to get him with? Right? Women like having fun ... being shown a good time. Not hanging around a wet blanket who's only claim to fame is the extent of his escapism and addiction to fantasy. Yeah ... I get it that Kim's a nice guy, but ... he, uh ... he'd definitely benefit from owning a set of hairy, swinging nuts. It would do him a world of good.

All I know is that Braga really liked Sarah's work on the show and enjoyed writing for her, so serious consideration was given to making her a regular cast member. Whether she, or her agent, were contacted regarding making a deal is a complete unknown. Sarah briefly wrote for SNL and acted on the show a bit, early in her career. Having been fired affected her deeply and she was very protective of her career, afterwards.

For example, she'd even turned down "girlfriend" parts, to avoid typecasting. I suspect that she would've wanted to avoid further typecasting by committing to VOYAGER as a STAR TREK sweetheart. I don't know Ms. Silverman. I've never met her. But had she been made a serious offer to join the show, I'm confident that she'd have turned it down, flat. Curiously, when this subject is discussed, elsewhere ... details are precious, few ... and thin, indeed ...

Two takes the band sounds awesome!

As for Sarah Silverman...I've seen a lot of posts about her staying. But under what context? Janeway just brings her aboard? I don't think she would do that. Plus...this is just me...I don't like Tom liking her ;)

"Music is the soundtrack of our Lives" ... so cliché, isn't it? But it's so true. I hear a favourite song and it reminds me of a girl that I used to know, or an experience I've had. Music was always there. Always. And when you get to control some of that soundtrack ... it really pays off. Girls dig it. They love it. You can impress your friends, when you play something they know and they recognise it. At one point, I had 6 electric guitars, hanging on my wall. I expected my girlfriend, at the time, to be impressed when she first saw my place, but she mocked me for pretending I was some kind of rock star. If only she could've tempered that frigging MOUTH of hers ... you know? ... she might've been able to hold onto me, a little longer.

I'm fairly certain that the notion wasn't taken that far. It was more one of those things of, "hey! She'd be great in our show! Let's make a deal" and when that went nowhere, so did the context of Rain's joining the cast. I don't know how Tom couldn't like her. She's a very beautiful 20th Century woman with a winning personality, and ... she wants him kissing her up.

Her character, Rain Robinson (Future's End part 1 & 2), was lovely: funny, curious... and above all, she brought some freshness in the show. Her character worked well with Tom Paris (she could have been his love interest, what could have brought some competition between Torres and Robinson, besides -> there was an evident good chemistry between McNeil & Silverman) and Tuvok.
-> come on, Janeway welcame some much strange people aboard (different species, a hologram, a half Borg-half human, why not someone coming from the end of 20th century?).

At the end, Braga prefered the hot (but talented) Jeri Ryan to the spunky Sarah Silverman but I think that both ladies, whose characters were intellectually brilliant could have worked well together ...

Rain was very outspoken. I would have liked to have seen how it would have been if she butted heads with Seven.

Have any of you ever heard of this:

Rain is mentioned in one of the TOS Trek novels that deal with Khan Noonian Singh.

I was never that fond of Vorik. Harry is a much better character.

Tal Celes would have been a great addition to the main cast.

You could ... Making pictures is not that difficult. The above ones are difficult in the sense that they are time-consuming but if you learn the basics of making pictures, they are not that difficult to make - technically speaking. Those book covers are very elaborate ones, so they would take a lot of time but to learn the technique(s) involved is not that difficult.

I find that making pictures is a question of practice and patience. My wallpapers are not as elaborate as the ones above because I usually take about 3-4 hours to make one. If I devoted like two weeks to a picture, they would look similar to the above ones. So like I said ... it's not very difficult. However, you have to have a lot of time on hand to make them.
