According to writers at Kotaku, one of which has access to the Pro controller, it seems to be working just fine and doesn't seem affected.

Well that's good to hear. Too bad it's too expensive. /facepalm

Yeah, one has to wonder if they've intentionally done that to get people to buy the expensive Pro controllers ;)

I kid, I kid. But hopefully it's an easy fix. I think the idea that it might be stuck in a low-power mode is an interesting theory.

Interestingly, word is that the Joy-Cons don't seem to exhibit that behavior when plugged into the unit itself.

That's why it's easy to believe is due to a weak signal. Obviously the closer they are to the unit themselves the less resistance for the signal to pass through.

    Depends on the game.

But smaller boxes for the 3DS half the cost games and bigger boxes for Switches games that shouldn't be $50 to milk a fake cow.

If they did that... I'd be pissed. $70 is too much for any controller.

    Here's to hoping!

I'm looking forward to getting a Switch someday, so hopefully that'll be worked out by then.

To bring the discussion back to something more positive, Nintendo is going to have a showcase for Nintendo Switch Indie games on February 28th at 9am PT (12pm EST). GDC is also running next week, so I'm hoping to see some cool new games announced for the Switch.

Speaking of Indie games, a company called Inti aquited the rights to the 'Blaster Master' IP and is producing a new game for the Switch (and 3DS). The game is going to utilize the excapt same graphics of the original but with new levels and story.

This hits on my nostalgia bone in all the right ways. I just hope it's coming to the West eventually (it's only slated for Japan right now).

    Story here.

Speaking of nostalgia, I hear Double Dragon 4 is a miss. Surely it's better than DD3?

I read a review of it and watched some gameplay videos. I wasn't really that impressed.

I have to admit some of the more critical reviews have taken the wind out of my enthusiasm a tad. I realized though, that ultimately I have to get hands on with it first and not worry (too much) what others are saying.

Also, some of the complaints, especially from the Kotaku article weren't really issues for me (others, maybe, but not for me).

So just curious, anyone posting here actually going to get the Switch this Friday? I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow night to pick mine up, along with Breath of the Wild (I preordered both back in January as soon as we were able to).

I'm pretty excited, and while the reviews of both the system and how Zelda runs (has a few performance issues it seems) haven't dampened that too much.

I didn't preorder the Switch, so I'll have to wait a few weeks (months?) for additional shipments. I'll grab one as soon as I can find it.

I won't be getting it on Friday, but that's to be expected ordering online. Best Buy Canada hasn't figured out how to do ordering online and picking up in store, and it takes 2 full days (and then out for delivery the next day) for stuff to get here from Toronto.

I can picture Nintendo short shafting retailers in order to create demand....
