Rocketworx had been a thing I've been looking into since since last fall, so far without materializing into anything. It may simply have been a contingency in case they lost the lawsuit and/or use of the name Axanar.

Fortunately Alec's seclusion didn't affect the design...

I to this day still like 'FLESH GORDON" - a very funny soft core parody from the 1970ies. ;)

Either grabbing domains for potential future use (something I do a lot of actually, nothing wrong with that). Or, he is simply going to change the name of Axanar Productions to Rocketworx. This also a is common practice with some companies that have had there name dragged through the mud. A change of name would be in his benefit from business point of view.

It was fairly recently in this thread we were discussing the change on the production website (I think that's where it was but don't go there anymore so am not sure) with the Donation link button I think it was? How instead of a direct path to donate anymore what is found is that one signs up on an email list? Now at the time it was being discussed here I was remembering how the original donation list was used to advertise the sale going on with the other business, and following the gist of the How That Works As A Mass Mailout Donation Request Platform. But before these discussions I'd not been aware of this specific use. 'Want to get on our news list? Give us your email and we'll keep you in the loop!' Which is building an email list for direct access to ask for more money donations under the guise of a news list. I knew about the other one -- selling email lists on the market.

So Tuesday I heard some reporters speaking to how right now this is being done by a person new to power on my own part of this planet; using 'to get this poll I'm sending out give me your email address' is also a work-around for building an extensive email list to send out mass mailings for more more donations to that person. And that that email list can then also then be sold on the market.

And I thought, 'Hey, I understand what they're talking about because we were just discussing the defendant doing the same thing.'

This is such an informative thread.

I was wondering how obscure the reference was. Not so very, I guess.

I can't bring myself to completely fill @Indysolo's shoes, so I won't use the same pic. ;)

Just as well. 'that' pic has a special 'cache' about it. A certain malodorous...look.

Edited to clarify: I was referring to Indiesolo's oft-used photo, which is also the one on his book jacket...
