Started playing Halo 2. Working my way through the MCC. I already get the sense I'll like Halo 2 more than CE. Everything just "feels" better, more intuitive. The weapons and level design are more impressive. Love the remastered cut scenes too, holy crap.

I couldn't stand him at first. Now I'm getting ready to do a job involving a cargo freighter, and he has just been a blast.

Oh yeah, I remember that. It was very cringey, yes.

    The second heist?
Personally i didn't like him that much before he met up with Micheal, then he became fun as a counter character to Micheal being a bit on the safe side, though that changes during the game as well...

I just finished Borderlands 2. Overall, it was a fun game. A few parts got annoying, but nothing major. I'm glad I learned that 90% of the time you can just run past constructors, since those bullet sponges are easily the least fun enemies to fight in the game. The very last boss was tough (not jack, The Warrior). But I found a spot where none of his attacks could hit me, while I could hit him, and took him out. I don't feel cheap for doing that because he had massive health and even doing it this way took 10 minutes and most of my ammo. If I had to dodge attack at the same time I would have lost my mind.

After that I started Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Its fun so far. I like that the character you choose (I went with Athena) actually talks and responds to NPCs at time, it gives them a lot more personality. The low gravity and air mechanics are intereting. I thought the air tank would be annoying, but its rarely an issue to refill your air. The low gravity is interesting, although sometimes precise jumping is a pain.

I also started Dragon ball Fusions on 3DS a few days ago. its fun so far, I like its unique RPG combat system, and I'm already a Dragon Ball Z fan so that part is entertaining.

Heh, I don't really know if I'd consider Micheal to be on the safe side. If anything, he's probably more sinister for hiding behind his "Mr Nice guy" facade knowing he could blow at any moment. At least with Trevor, you know what you're getting as he shows his true colours from the get-go. But heck yeah, Trevor's a load of fun to play with. He's just so extreme that you can't help but laugh at what he gets himself into. And he has some of the best random phrases. And his actor, Steven Ogg looks a lot like him. It was fun watching some clips of him playing the game. And also noticing him in Westworld. What I'd have loved to see is Micheal introducing Trevor to his psychiatrist. Just the thought of that guy trying to analyze Trevor makes me laugh. If he thought Micheal was a handful, oh boy...

Had a quick go of Saints Row 4 yesterday. I'd had some experience with the second but in this one I don't think I'll be driving around anymore (or maybe even using much in the way of guns)

I've been playing a lot of Horizon: Zero Dawn since it was released. I really like it so far.

Finished Rise of The Tomb Raider (but not a completionist run yet). There were some minor irritations and the final boss was a bit too easy
at least when I managed to find the cans I needed and remembered the melee button was not the mouse button
but overall, I really enjoyed it.

Finished Halo 2, which was fantastic. Played four levels of Halo 3 yesterday. So addictive. H3 has the best Warthog level I've played so far. Not sure if they improved the driving mechanics or if I finally got the hang of it, but it was such a wild and viscerally fun level. I'm disappointed the MCC didn't give H3 the same remastered treatment that H2 got, but it's still a great game so far.

most likely a bit of both

as a grizzled Halo veteran, I prefer Halo: CE's exaggerated physics, but there is no argument that they markedly improved and streamlined the driving with Halo 3 - especially compared to Halo 2

Started Rise of The Tomb Raider (XB1) but only did the opening act, will be giving it a proper play through during the week. I am a little pissed at MS at the moment though as my XB1 pad is fucked due to the RB stopping working (Google search makes it seems a common issue). I have a 2nd pad lucky but its put me off just playing now, I didn't damage it myself or anything, it just seems from online sources to be a cheap piece of shit the XB1 pad. I've hardly played XB1 compared to my 360 and my pads never broke on that, infact I don't recall a pad ever breaking on me for PS1, PS2, etc etc in my gaming life.

    rant over :p

I enjoyed Rise (though mine was the PC version and via Steam).

Out of the newer Tomb Raider games, the only one I haven't finished is Underworld. I've reinstalled that and am going to make a try at that between my Saints Row 4 playthrough.

I loved Rise, but I actually think I enjoyed Tomb Raider (2013) more. Rise is more polished, but everything about TR felt new and surprising. Rise was a refinement (and an excellent one).

I preferred the story in TR and I preferred the gameplay in Rise. Either way, I really loved both games. I mean, I basically bought an XB1 just for Rise. ;)

Anyway, I'm still playing Horizon: Zero Dawn. Man, what an awesome game. And I honestly think it's the prettiest game I've ever played. Yes, even prettier than Uncharted 4. ;)

Yeah, I think I lean that way too with regards TR and Rise.

I did think Rise was easier though, especially when it came to environmental deaths.

^ You may be right about the difficulty... I completed Rise on Hard without any problems. I did also complete TR on hard, but I do think it took a bit more effort.

The one thing I would want them to do in the next Tomb Raider game is have more and larger tombs to explore. I loved finding hidden tombs in the game, but the experience was always so brief. I want to get lost in a tomb for an hour.
