People keep expressing the idea that something is "wrong" with Barclay just because he's different, that it's some "disorder" that needs to be "cured." But I would think that in the enlightened future, mental/neurological differences are considered to be just another form of human diversity to be respected like any other difference, rather than being pathologized and subjected to "cures" by the neurotypical-normative ideological majority.

These days, every quirk has a name. Not saying it doesn't help to give it a name (naming tropes is much easier than saying "that thing where a character always does this..." pover and over), but you don't have to address everything as an illness and dope the uniqueness out of everyone. It'd be like having a society of clones.

Oops, Ro didn't have 9 episodes. Forbes did though. She appeared in Half a Life as David Ogden Steirs daughter

Every crisis or confrontation seemed to happen during the Alpha shift.

It would be hard for the writers to write a plausible episode in which Q appears and not have the plot revolve mainly around him, like you could do with Ro in an episode like Cause and Effect.

I've heard that accusation before, but actually, Schisms is going on during the night shift & so is Cause & Effect. A good deal of Night Terrors as well, I'd imagine. I bet there's other situations I'm forgetting, that fall outside that claim as well. Surely there are far MORE incidents happening on alpha shift, but it's also true that the majority of ship function & mission progression is taking place on those shifts as well. It's a lot less likely that you'll find trouble when you're more than likely not out there bothering to get mixed up in it

NCIS is basically 'TNG not in space' a lot of the time.

It's fiddly, but given at the time the mini was seen as a feminist statement and a rebellion against a patriarchal society...and given it turns up again as fashion cycles around, it's not so bad. Colour coded pants however make it odd. In universe...fashion is cyclical, so they came into fashion for uniforms for a while again. It's like nudity...nudity isn't always about sex, but enough of society thinks it is at times, that things like nudes in art, or certain styles of dress are clamped down on in different places and in one or another (or certain films)...the miniskirt isn't necessarily about being sexy or what have you in TOS...just a fashion, like tight trousers with flaring bottoms, or wraparound tunics for the men. I don't remember anyone making a thing about the minis in universe, they were just ...there.

The nerves of steel thing is fairly accurate....grows out of the job, and the real world astronauts. Generally speaking, these people are living in ultimately a tin can with lots of stuff that can go wrong and outright leave them dead. A power cut earthside isn't going to kill you unless you are in some pretty specific circumstances...in space, in a can, you will die. This requires a certain fortitude....even Barclay is, ultimately, an explorer in space.

Oh I get that, just trying to think of a valid in universe reason why the female uniforms went from the flight suits of ST ENT, the tops and trousers of The Cage/Mengarie, to the mini skirts of the 2260's to the one pieces of the ST TMP and the Maroon military ones of ST WOK etc lol

Don't forget the TWOK mini, with th jacket and hair it's power dressing time! Lol.
Maybe some engineer somewhere invented an amazing material that had no use except for tights. You know how Starfleet love to push their new tech.

ST ENT - flight suits - a tribute to Earth's NASA roots
ST Kelvinverse pre Pike - (did not see any mini skirts) - the blue outfits designed by an Andorian fashion house
ST TOS Pike era - the velour outfit, the 1970's made a quick come back
ST TOS Kirk era - An Orion quartermaster thought the Starfleet uniforms were too conservative, after watching a documentary about the 1960's called 'The era when humanity swung' lobbied for his cousin Gaila to design the uniforms.
ST TMP era - a blind Aenar designer decided looking sexy and being soldiers was an overated experience
ST TWOK era - after decades of negative observations about the cold draft on Starfleet ships, the Vulcan lobbied for the Vulcan designer T'Pring, who decided that comfort outweighed aesthetics.

But why did Worf's Mok'bara shirt cross over almost like a turtle neck, while Trio's was a deep plunge V neck??

    Actually,
Because his is special, because he's a red-belt or red-collar master or whatever the heck the reason is for him to have a red band on half his collar. Everyone else has a V-Neck, & they have a white band on half their collar. Troi's (much like anything she wears except her uniform) has a slightly lower neckline than the other students. Maybe Betezoids have gills on their boobs. That would explain a lot of her fashion choices, & go a long way to explaining why she became a fish in Genesis :p
