    this stuff looks like wizardry to me ^^, thrusters arrangement look great

    sry for off topic but i also found your sparta class roguewolf, one of the best trek concepts ive ever seen, really brilliantly looking from every angle, so compact and beefy, great work that, was it made from a gundam shield as well?

    Yes, I have a bit of a thing for using Gundam Shields for ships. I love the Sparta Class a lot myself, I feel it is one of my better designs. I've been tempted to build her in 1/1400 as well but that might not get done for a few years.:lol:

    Thanks Atolm, I'm really glad you approve of my efforts. I got some work done on her but I'm going to wait until I get some more work (get her to a certain point) before I post some more pics.

    The build isn't going as quick as it could cause I'm working on several other ships at the same time; a Ferengi ship, a TOS Survey Scout, a post-Dominion War Fed ship and a 1/72 Sphinx workpod. On top of that there are the regular house chores, the kids activities and we also just got two new cats.

    Phew!

    Wow. Six days off and hardly any real progress. Or, at least not as much as I had hopped to have done.
    Got the aft forks filled and sanded;

    Got the aft upper plates cut, thinking I'll cut another set for the 'armour plates' look;

    Flaring out the warp ring connection points at the edges so they blend with the wing slots more naturally;

    Oh, and detail work on the secondary hull;

    After over a year of sitting on the desk ,gathering dust, I finally got enough mojo back to get back to work on this project.

    I had thought of scribing the details into the model, but getting it symmetrical would have been near impossible.

    Then I thought of using vinyl tape and cutting out the patterns, then I decide that that too would be to long a process to do by hand and it might drive me mad.

    Lastly, I decided to sketch out the pattern, scan it, and bring it to a sign shop to have them cut it out onto vinyl. I got as far as sketching the pattern, then my interest in the bench fell away again.

    Today, I sat at the bench and using my sketched pattern and a fresh xacto blade and a cold beer and got to work. Here is where I am so far:

    I have to say, this process is very slow and very maddening, but I've started it now and will see it through. I will Have this kit finished and off to Del in the new year, come hell or high water.

    Do not apologize for your level of detail, that's what makes them so awesome!

    I have two more rows of panels added now, I'll try to get some more done tonight/tomorrow. After the upper hull is done I'll have to go over her a second time adding a little more detail ontop of the first layer, then she should start looking a little more like the original sketch.

    That's about the most advanced looking spacecraft I've seen in awhile.
    The seconary hull alone could be kitted for a big greeble.

    You have great patience.

    Here is an idea for a second build--since you do flowing shapes so well in plastic.

    From the movie PASSENGERS, the Starship Avalon:

    http://i1.wp.com/www.cgmeetup.net/home/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Passengers-Official-Trailer-6.jpg?resize=1024,587

    Now doesn't that look like one of Atolm's designs?
    ...making an impact.

    I didn't think it was possible to make a standard artificial gravity ring look super-advanced--and then this.

    I had really hoped to be further along than this by the end of the weekend but it just wasn't in the cards. So here is as far along as I managed to get to date:
