    From USA Today:
NEW YORK — Fyvush Finkel, the plastic-faced character actor whose career in stage and screen started in Yiddish theater and led to memorable roles in Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway and on TV in Boston Public and Picket Fences, has died, his son said Monday. He was 93.

Finkel, who was known for his mischievous smile and an ability to prop his ears at an angle for optimum comic effect, died early Sunday in Manhattan, said his son, Ian. He said his father had suffered heart problems for months.

He was a comedian, singer, stage actor, film actor and a familiar TV performer, from Fantasy Island to Blue Bloods to Picket Fences, for which he was nominated for an Emmy twice and won once, in 1994, according to his IMDb page. He celebrated his 80th birthday on the set of Boston Public, playing history teacher Harvey Lipschultz.

Rest in peace, sir. He was a very memorable performer. I think the role that stands out the most for me is the teacher in Boston Public. He could be both funny and tragic at the same time.

I liked the guy and he had a great name. Sad to see anyone go but he had a good run.

I only knew him from Boston Public, which he was great in. 2016 claims another talent but at least he got a good innings. RIP.

Douglas Wambaugh, for the defense! - So sad to hear of his passing. Fyvush Finkel was such a wonderful Character actor and probably the reason I even know the term. So many wonderful scenes between him and Ray Walston!
