It could be TOS through the movie era. Maybe it's a long-range ship or something. Longer-term missions that the Constitution class. Deep space explorer or similar.
I love the look of the ship! Very Phase II! Could this mean TOS, or even a post-TOS reboot of some description? Not sure about the name but maybe it will grow on me. When I first read it it sounded corny.
Is it me or did they make the hull look like the Trek Delta? I'm not a fan of the design, but oh well. I have lots of faith in the people making it. The CGI is rough but the show is still early, I sincerely doubt that's the finished effects. As others said, likely something they made just for SDCC.
I've got a bad feeling about at least one crew member on Discovery. Spoiler Ship-wise, I've never been of the McQuarrie design. Or the D, for that matter. Never got in the way of my appreciation for the series. Looking forward to this.
Yep. Coming out of the asteroid base and everything. This is great, to me! Now onto more important things, like characters.

Most likely the Prime universe..the Movies are set in the Kelvin Timeline and the new TV series will be in the Original Prime Timeline...with Enterprise being cannon for both of them
