    Hello,
New to this site, actually just stumbled on it to see just how many fans of DS9 there are... I admit i'm not a hardcore trek fan, however i am an obsessive/loyal/ die hard DS9 fan.... I find the characters, and the storylines relatable. I started watching it as a kid, but now rewatching it as an adult, i can appreciate the subtext, and the dry humor of the show ... True, it has a smaller cult following, but that's what made this show stand out for me.. It's not like other star trek shows, it plays as the underdog. The one that took the most risks, and dug into deep introspective character studies. I suppose that's what so endearing of it, by the end of the series you feel you've grown with all of the characters, knowing them intimately, and the struggles they go through as individuals, and companions aboard the space station, it's as if you were living there yourself.. You can't say that about the other Star treks.. ..

I can binge this show every year, and still catch on to new subtle nuances i hadn't caught prior.. This will always be one of my favorite shows of all time.. I'm a pride niner here , till the the end of days !!

    Hey all,

I've been watching Star Trek since TNG. I've watched all the movies and series, but DS9 remains my favorite. The story arcs were amazing and I always thought it was the most under appreciated of all the Star Trek series. Don't get me wrong, I love all Star Trek but DS9 was special

    Greetings,

This is my first post on this site and I wanted to make it in the DS9 section. I grew up watching TGN but I really find myself liking DS9 more. There is more conflict, more blemishes then the 'perfect' world of Starfleet that gets a little monotonous in TNG. I like the fact that we get 'deep dives' into the culture of Bajor and the Ferengi rather than warping off to a new star system every week. Plus, episodes like "In the Pale Moonlight" where we see characters morally challenged make for very compelling viewing.

Anyway, really looking forward to participating in this forum and discussing my favorite TV show.

    Nick

Welcome, Nickymaz! I'm a character-work gal myself. TOS and DS9 are my favorite series by far.

Have you noticed the parallels between Odo, Spock, and Worf, perchance?

Hi everyone! I'm new here and have been mostly reading about DS9 and I'm slowly watching DS9, I'm still trying to gather all the episodes. I also like TNG and Enterprise as well.

    I am among my people!!

Dramatics aside, I'm super stoked to hang out with fellow Niners. I love Star Trek as a whole, but DS9 is my absolute favourite part of that whole. My favourite episode is "Duet", and my favourite character is Elim Garak. Can't wait to chat with others who like DS9!

New to the forums, DS9 is my favorite series.

My favorite characters are, in order, Dax (both), Sisko, Garak, Odo, Weyoun, and Bashir.

DS9 fan here! Star Trek is always on British TV. I prefer it due to its realism of humanoid nature. TNG is entertaining but too fluffy for me. DS9 is adventurous, dark with good baddies and good characterisation. I'm on Season four at the moment and last night I watched 'The Way of the Warrior' Part One. Just one question is the Martok with two eyes the changeling Martok? Also the irony is the Klingons paved the way for the Dominions to takeover the Alpha quadrant by waging war on a troubled Cardessia. Stupid Klingons!
One more question does anyone read the post season 7 novels?

I just completed watching DS9 for the first time and oh man, what a series! Even with the nostalgia of TNG (grew up watching it), my love for DS9 surpasses TNG with ease, for me. Great characters, fascinating episodes and plot, and so much left to think about! I'm definitely going to read some of the post series books.

Kilana was my favorite Vorta, and I'm really disappointed she wasn't involved more in the show. I'm convinced it was because she was too charming. ;D

    Hello,

Those of you who know me from the VOYAGER fora are probably aware that I keep making ST VOY desktop wallpapers in my free time.
Now, I don't really like the other Trek series - however, I occasionally make crossover pictures for Star Trek.
Here's one of them - I hope you'll like it.
If you do, please feel free to share or download it (Res.: 1360 x 768 for HD monitors).
If you like VOYAGER, check out my other works at:

    Cheers,
    Thomas

Every time I complete a viewing of DS9, I find myself wanting to go back to Emissary and start right back over again.

Long time Niner, was part of the original AOL Star Trek Message Boards back in the mid 90s when DS9 was on. Have been on this board for many years off and on, but now I'm re-watching DS9 with my wife (who has never seen it). It's nice to see it through fresh eyes!

New-ish to Trek. Started from the beginning this year with TOS, TAS, and TNG. I'm going through the list in broadcast order and just started DS9. So far, I'm enjoying the diversity of species they are bringing to the stories, but I will admit that Sisko is my least favorite leader thus far.

    Welcome aboard!

I'll admit, I had a hard time getting used to Sisko as well. I grew to like him more over time, but he will never be my favourite leader. He beats out Janeway though!

So this is a kind of "welcome back" for me, I guess. My join date says 2010 but I joined much earlier than that, I think 2005. I haven't been around much due to life and school, but I've been rewatching DS9 with my wife (who has never seen it before), and I'm really appreciating it again. DS9 is my favorite of the series. I grew up with TNG and the TOS movies, and DS9 & VOY aired during my teenage years. I was on the AOL Trek Message Boards in 1995-7 and so have been doing the BBS Trek thing a loooooong time. I'm interested to meet new faces here, and re-connect with old faces if they remember me :)
