His general day to day expression is "Do I look like I care?" Given how big his whiskers have grown I almost wish we had called him "Kang" over keeping "Pepsi" (he was a rescue cat), but mostly I call him "Asshole" cos, frankly, he really is. Hugo - loves him though
I know, I know. The crazy cat lady is back with more pictures. Calling Junior a "long-haired" cat would be an understatement.
He's NEVER caught anything in his life. He's a marshmallow. I've had him since he was about 10 months old (he'll be 5 in December), and he has been an indoor kitty the whole time. If there's a spider or some insect in the house, he'll follow it; he might even swat at it, but that's IT. He won't kill and eat it.
Well, I guess that's better than being presented with a half-live critter in its death throes. A very pregnant friend's cat dropped a semi-dead roach on her belly and after screaming she went into labor soon after. It was an all round evil cat.
So our second cat had a furball hocking moment last night and deposited the largest wad of hair I have ever seen (and just-eaten cat food) onto the sofa. Poor thing must have felt so guilty given she left us a mouse on the exact same spot as an "I'm sorry". We thanked her and treated he to a little ham in her breakfast as a reward. Eesh. Actually, the cat wasn't being evil, most likely. Mother cats will bring semi-dead animals back to their kittens, usually to instruct them. When cats do that, it's either because it thinks you aren't capable of properly feeding yourself and need to be shown how to hunt or it's giving you a present. When I was a kid, we had a cat who would do that all the time. It would very proudly drop the "gift" on the floor at my Mom's feet. My mother would take the dead, or nearly dead critters, thank the cat for the "gift," and then quickly toss it out. It was usually fairly gruesome.
It was a wicked, wicked cat. Its hobby was peeing in shoes if reprimanded and leaping on people from a high perch. Especially older, shakier people. It was forgiven the latter when the nasty mother-in-law from hell came for a visit. Speaking of sketchy cats, here's a real life cat burglar. From the BBC: A nocturnal "cat burglar" has been stealing dozens of socks and men's underwear in New Zealand. In two months, six-year-old Tonkinese cat Brigit from Hamilton city brought back 11 pairs of underpants and more than 50 socks. Her owner, Sarah Nathan, has documented her feline's strange obsession on a widely shared Facebook post. Ms Nathan told the BBC that the trouble first began when she started discovering "odd pieces" of underwear among her washing. "They didn't belong to anyone in the house and one day Brigit walked into our lounge carrying a sock like a kitten," she said, adding that Brigit's unlucky victims were probably a nearby flat "full of blokes". We've recently moved our cat (Inkie) to our new house, she's an outdoor cat but it was recommended we keep her in for three weeks. At first she was really nervous, hiding in corners and underneath or behind things but yesterday and this morning she was getting used to the house and getting a lot more confident, however we went out this afternoon and left her in the kitchen with her food/ litter tray, when we got back a few hours later we found she'd somehow managed to unlock the locked (one with a dial) cat flap herself and apparently left, seeing as she wasn't anywhere inside, certainly not in the room we'd left her in with a closed door. I wish so much we'd just put a heavy object in front of it since we're not even using that door at the moment. It's getting dark now and I'm getting really worried, she's only been here for just over three days, I wouldn't have been comfortable letting her out until it'd been at least 2 weeks. I'm worried she'll try getting back to her old place which is over 40 miles away. Has anyone got any advice? We're planning on calling cat rescue places and vets tomorrow (when they're actually open), I've gone out scanning the surrounding area several times, we've left the cat flap on the in only setting and put food outside the door. I'm really hoping she'll just turn up today or tomorrow since she was starting to get used to the house and might already regard it as her 'territory' but sadly although it's not impossible I'm not too confident.

Man, I'd totally freak out if Junior disappeared for that long. Poor kitty looks a bit freaked out herself, there. "Holy crap! I was lost for 30 hours!"
Glad you got Inkie back! Had something similar happen last year. One of our cats was staying at my in-laws while we were on vacation and managed to get out, went missing for 5 days. And this was the middle of nowhere so there was nobody else around to take care of him. When he finally found his way back, he was a *lot* thinner and obviously traumatized. Before, he liked to make a show of being a big hunter and kept wanting to go outside. Now, he won't get near the door!
"I couldn't find the food bowl!" Glad the kitty is back home. Neither of my cats would last 5 minutes on their own.
