Gates McFadden sells her personal TNG scripts

I liked the script page with the personal notes written on it. Almost feels like a personal connection to the crew instead of some mass market printed book with a script in it.

VERY COOL!

My Preemptive Strike (the script still calls the episode "The Good Fight") script arrived! I just opened the package, there's so much in it, the entire script in a binder, call sheets for three days of shooting, the shooting schedule and an extra envelope with pages that have been taken out of the script, I assume those are pages that have been rewritten and replaced, that's so exciting!

It's not smelly at all, it's in great condition. Just a few signs of usage and the call sheets dirtied the inner part of the folder a bit.

My whole package inside and outside had a strong urine smell. Probably some animal unloaded itself during transport onto it. ;)

Eww, must have been something like that because I was really impressed with the packaging, my script folder was wrapped in foil, then had an additional paper wrapping and all of that was inside a padded envelope

Maybe one of McFadden's cats added it as a little present for me into the box. ;)

Got my two script packages today and went through them. Not in folders, no additional infos like call scheets... BUT: McFadden did some personal notes in the 1st season scripts and damn you get that she didnt like some dialoge of Crusher (which she states on some panel appearances, that she also lost her job after 1st season because she was too opinionated). I couldnt get the scripts home today from my workplace because it was raining heavy, but maybe tomorrow I can make some photos of her remarks. :)

BTW she has a script from Wil Wheaton in her shop:

McFadden was fired after season 1 because she was too critical ... and her remarks in the S1 scripts show how unhappy she was with Crusher's dialogue ("stupid")... :)

Thank you so much for posting the pictures, they are really fascinating. I feel like I'm looking at history! :)

Still can't believe I missed out on this. Does anyone know if she sold Remember Me? Thats one of my favorite episodes and of course very Crusher centric.

Sub Rosa as well, not exactly a great episode but I'd love to see her notes on that one.

I got the script for "When the Bough Breaks"... not my favorite episode by any means, but it was available. And weirdly, it was Wil Wheaton's script rather than McFadden's, but she signed the cover anyway.

It was fascinating trying to read the script while watching the episode. Even though it's labeled as the "Final Draft" it's clear that may of the scenes are edited in a different order than written and a lot of dialogue ended up with a different character than originally written for. For instance, the aired episode opens with the kid running into Riker and then being lectured by his dad about learning calculus. But in the script, it's Picard instead of Riker and this is an early scene of act one rather than the teaser.

I imagine this sort of re-whoping must be quite common, it was just fun to see "in action" so to speak.

And I have to add the aired version is quite a lot better than the scripted version. Almost all the changes were improvements.
