I would like to see the Colonel Worf Show, if it was done well.

I was never hoping for a Worf series but if they'd ever done a post-nemesis series he was one of the characters i'd hoped would guest star.

Dorn playin' Colonel Worf's twin Sporf. Captaining a BoP against the Romulans and getting entangled with the Feds sometime around or just after the TOS movie era. Crowbar in Takei, get two birds with one stone insofar as satisfying ex-supporting cast members and their "I wanna series" demands.

Or set it earlier, so you end up with older actors playing younger versions of their characters, like in "These Are the Voyages."

Now the irony would be if there is a John Cho Captain Sulu series!

But yeah, I agree, there was never going to be a Takai Sulu series, let alone Captain Worf. I think at this point, the TNG cast, as well as DS9/VOY/ENT are cut off from Star Trek forever, unless it is in non-profit kick starter online fan films, or some bit part playing another character.

    Which is a bloody shame.

I can't imagine a lot of people actually thought this would happen. Worf is my favourite character along with Kirk but he's already appeared in more episodes than any other character. I'm not sure there's much more to learn about him. Didn't Sisko tell him he'd never command his own ship because of the incident with Dax and the Cardassian informant anyway?

It would be nice to see Worf again but not as the star of his own show.

They'd bite Patrick Stewart's hand off if he expressed interest in appearing as Picard in the new show:rommie:

The others have probably had their day but I wouldn't be shocked to see a few old characters turn up from time to time.

It would be awesome if Patrick Stewart expressed such interest, and he might be one of the exceptions where they might give Picard a cameo somehow, but there's no evidence Stewart would go for that. The last few interviews I read with Stewart seems to show he's done with Trek, and is ok being done with it.

But I don't see any of the other cast members of any of the other shows making cameos with their respective characters.

It was the first part I disagreed with, I just don't see how the Network would be interested in making a show about a character that is not Captain Kirk, Spock, or Picard.

The same was said back in 1986/87 and look what happened.

New and unfamiliar doesn't automatically equate with bad or impossible.

That's not the same, TNG was a whole new direction and whole new show with 100% new characters and 90% new stories that with all honesty was more accurately a success with the fans more than casual TV Viewers. :cardie:

I don't see how that's a distinction. You said the network wouldn't want a show about a TOS or TNG headliner, and now you're saying TNG's debut was different from this new show's because it was new. This new show may very well be... new... too.

And TNG was definitely a roaring success with casual TV viewers. The fans alone could never have propelled it to the numbers it was averaging at its peak.

Not exactly what I said in context; I mentioned Kirk and Spock and Picard as they are the most popular Star Trek Characters. People know who Spock and Kirk and maybe some know about Picard, but definitely to much lesser extent, and they got the amount of people knowledgeable about Picard (even though the majority is mostly fans that made TNG a success). And I argue against that since DS9 and VOY had similar levels of viewership (similar, not the same; similar).
