A complete lack of surprise, a general sensation of relief despite said lack of surprise, and yet, unerringly, several pangs of sympathy for Dorn.

I'm not at all surprised. The idea that they would do a Captain Worf series was entirely in the fevered hopes of the fans. Dorn was, of course, all for it, and understandably so.

Takei has more of a chance of getting a series than Dorn does.

It'd be interesting though how it would be played. Would he be wholly Starfleet or would he have to battle to keep his rather unStarfleet inner-Klingon in check. Even Sisko had to discipline him from time to time.

    I personally disagree with that.

A Captain Worf series, like a Captain Sulu series, was never going to happen. Neither character was big enough to warrant building series around.

Respectfully, I could have confirmed this for Dorn five years ago.

We already got a Captain Worf series -- that scene in First Contact when the Defiant is under attack. That's pretty much what every episode would have been. And the series would have lasted about as long.

I'm guessing the first part is what you disagree with.

I'm with the OP. While I like Mr. Dorn quite a bit it's pretty obvious that George is more widely known to the general public.

    That's damning with faint praise.

Who thought "Captain Worf" was going to happen? And why did Dorn think he had to comfirm this?

To be fair, he was probably asked.

The photo use with the article has Dorn looking better and healthier than a few years ago, this make me happy.

So, "Captain Worf" it is not. But "Admiral Worf" is still a possibility, right?

    Right?

It was at Rhode Island Comic Con, so someone probably asked him about it. He then responded that he's not involved in the new show and quoted the same press release everyone else saw.

Worf pretty much ruined his chances of ever gaining a command of his own in Starfleet.

    The Sisko said so.

I like Worf, I like Dorn, I like Dorn's enthusiasm, but I don't see a character-driven spin-off working for Trek. In theory, maybe a TV special, if those still exist.

Instead of a whole series, they should do miniseries, or occasional movies-of-the-week a la Perry Mason.
