"Agent Carter" season one discussion and spoilers

Someone who's bi can choose to be monogamous in their marriage. It's about as hard to imagine as it is to imagine married heterosexuals who don't cheat on their spouses.

 

You appear to have totally missed the point.

My initial comment was based on the premise that Carter was 1) in love with Angie (who is not a man) and 2) married to a man (who is not Angie.)

While certainly not the only possible scenario by any means, I merely posited that this *could* touch on the necessity for bi and gay people in the 40's & 50's to enter into marriage with a member of the opposite sex, mostly for appearances sake. Often while still in a relationship with a member of the opposite sex. Sometimes even with the consent and support of their spouse.

That's all. I'm not saying Peggy couldn't possibly love Angie *and* later enter into a genuine marriage with a man, just suggestion that the above scenario might be one interesting facet on which they might touch *if* they went down that path.

 

If by saying 'It could mean her relationship with her husband would be a "sham marriage",' you meant that it's a theoretical possibility, then, yes, it's a theoretically possibility, given only that we know nothing yet about that aspect of the storyline in season two.

Not only do I see no evidence whatsoever that they will explore the scenario you suggest, but also my point is that I believe that it is very unlikely that they will explore it.

What we know so far is that Carter's big crush was Captain America, and despite that lost love, there was no evidence presented in The Winter Soldier that Carter did not love her husband and every suggestion that in fact she did.

Peggy wouldn't need a sham marriage to keep up appearances. As a world class spy, capable of operating independently, pedestrian means of that sort would be totally out of character.

There's no point to miss here, because the scenario you are proposing is, at least as yet, non-existent, and since it hardly fits this show, it really isn't likely.

I've heard of the character, but I don't have any experience with her. It should be fun having a female big bad for Peggy to go up against.

I thought the same thing, but I'm glad they're not going with that route. Plus, Lotte Verbeek is a great actress. I loved her in Outlander.

 

Have we heard anything about Lyndsy Fonesca? I've been a big fan of hers since Nikita and I was really hoping she'd be back. Her working as an actress would make the move to LA easy.

 

As far as I'm aware, Lyndsy Fonseca just got cast to guest in 2 episodes of a sitcom called "Grandfathered" but that she's still expected back to be in Season 2 of Agent Carter they just haven't finalized the deal yet.

No offence intended, it's perhaps interesting that to you maybe that it seems that Grandfathered isn't real like other sitcoms are real.
