Is it homage? Satire? Or just the sort of thing you find in an alternate universe?

B.J. thinks the pictures we all know and admire must have a different flavor in the Star Trek universe, so he challenged us to cook them up. Once you see what's on the menu, vote for your favorite artistic chef, and they'll get to cook up a new challenge for September!

I voted for first one cus it was really unexpected and unpredictable to see Gene Roddenberry like that here ^_^

B.J.. Hands down. I can just imagine a cartoon version of that creature from "The Enemy Within" jumping up and laughing at me every time I miss.

I'm with you, and I'm still really confused. Was everything sent to Ptrope not actually uploaded to a page? Is this the "grand final" of a previous August art theme thread I somehow missed?

Why can't we all just post to the original thread? How many did Ptrope receive?

I guess I'll just post mine to my previous art thread?

^You are supposed to email the picture to Ptrope using the email address he provides at the start of each art thread

And the e-mail must be received by Ptrope prior to midnight of the last day of the month.

maybe gmail's spam filters keep catching mine, i dunno. but that's twice now that my on-time to-the-right-address entry has been dropped. going back to lurking.

Well, I think I take some of the blame here since I didn't make it clear in the initial posting what to do with the entries. I've gotten a bit complacent in not spelling it out since it's been our SOP for years now. Apologies to those who got mixed up in the confusion.

However, I think that for future challenges, we should start adding our final entry into the initial challenge thread. Nothing against Ptrope certainly, he's done a great job for us, but the current process is also a single point of failure.

My apologies, largo - I didn't see an e-mail in my inbox, and didn't find a thread when I was looking to see if I had missed any; it looks like I didn't look far enough back (the default on the board is activity in the past 2 weeks, and I apparently didn't change it to 4). Totally my fault! :(

I'm all for people putting their entries in the initial thread, or at least putting a link to their own threads there. The main issue we've ever had with culling pix from threads has been knowing which image you may intend to be the final entry, but if only the final entry is added to the challenge thread, that should be good.

Do you want to start over with the vote and add the extra images that have been backlogged? I'm cool with that if the other submitters are. It would be a shame to not give others a chance if they put in the effort for it.

I did. Then I waited almost a month to discover it had not arrived?

I sent it a few days after the announcement.

Again, my apologies. With the month almost half-gone, now, do you folks want to re-poll and maybe run the next challenge through the end of October, or what? It's your forum.

I'm totally cool with pushing this through October if the rest of you all are.

Well don't stop entering, you've done some good stuff. The only thing I can suggest is e-mail a few days early, then post or PM Ptrope and verify that he got it. If not, there are multiple easy solutions.

Go ahead and re-poll, and have the next one go through the end of October. September's half done now anyway.

So I noticed that the polling is closed. Will there be a new one to be started soon or will it be re-started on Oct 1?
