No argument there, but the thought was that you'd send the other ship away in those situations as it's not equipped for it. Then again, I'd imagine rogue sub attacks are probably more the exception than the norm, so let's not pretend it's a regular occurrence. And wasn't thinking so much at sea resupply so much being able to to send the ship to go get/scavenge for supplies. Could use the tenders of dock in port to transfer things.

I don't really buy that they could crew the submarine. An Astute class has a regular complement of close to a hundred people. Even if they could get it to port, they would need to find skilled crew, who are also immune and in some way support their "cause". It gets even more complicated if they need people who can operate nuclear-powered submarines, since only the British, French and Russians have those in Europe.

Apart from this, I've really enjoyed the episodes so far. The last one was sursprisingly nerve-racking, even though it was quite obvious they wouldn't be serioslu hurt.

Well, that ended on a deep note.

Some of you wondered where the gummint was. Now you got a president.

My first real complaint for the series is that it started out with the old "Cap'n is obsessed" trope. I don't know what it is about shows like this that makes all the writers want to plagiarize Melville.

But, they launched another missile, so I'm placated...

It was alright this week. Though nothing outstanding it was entertaining enough. I do like that they're getting the rest of the Nathan James crew involved in the story, especially Bacon accidently giving Dr. Scott necessary information. The Master Chief also had some good stuff this week with his warning Chandler about turning the sub into a white whale and his scene with Scott towards the end was also a nice moment.

They seem to have an interesting parallel between Chandler and Sean. Chandler of course becoming so intent on the sub he's starting to lose sight of cure distribution despite protests from his crew. Sean intent of bringing other immunes into the fold that he's losing sight of the Nathan James despite protests from his crew.

We hear another one of the sub's crew refer to himself as a Warrant Officer. Assuming this isn't a title he bestowed upon himself, or that Sean bestowed upon him, is it possible he did serve in the Navy prior to the plague and might have prior experience on subs? In which case, so too could others, meaning that the sub isn't being operated by people mostly unfamiliar with the operation of a submarine as many of us believed last week. Granted, it's convenient that there are enough people with a natural immunity to crew a sub, but there we are.

Speaking of convenient immunes, isn't it just a bit too lucky that a US politician who was in the order of succession for president was immune? Or is it possible that Sean and his people do have some of the cure, found this Secretary, gave him the cure so that he could serve their purposes of needing a puppet leading America? Something about the Secretary's facial expressions suggests to me he's not 100% on board with Sean.

A bit disappointed they didn't play a bit more with the love interest angle between Lieutenants Burke and Bivas this week, aside from some grins in the clothes changing scene. Yeah, I know, there was a story to tell, but with the two of them being selected as teammates each time teaming up is done, I was hoping for something else. Oh well.

Nitpick time, at the beginning we see Dr. Scott accompanying the team which checked out Dr. Hunter's lab. Even though Scott is a civilian, shouldn't she still have been wearing a combat vest while in a potentially hostile location where enemy combatants could have been?

With a 1 in 20 survival rate I have no problem believing the 12th in line to the presidency survived.

Agreed. I think it's actually less likely that the entire Cabinet was wiped out, but easy to believe the surviving secretaries had been out of touch until the bad guys found one.

That was a very interesting twist. And it puts the Nathan James in an interesting position. If they find a judge and he takes the oath, he is President. And as Commander in Chief, he can order Chandler to abandon his current mission and stand down. Chandler has been leaning on the fact that they are all Navy, with a job to do and a mission assigned them straight from the President before it all came apart. I don't see him defying a legal order from the President.

He would have to go rogue, find someone higher up in the succession line and have him or her installed as President, or obey the order. From everything we've learned about Chandler, I really don't see him defying the order.

Vague statements made at Comic Con indicate he just might. Nothing spoilery was said, but apparently earlier in the season when Chandler was at the White House staring at a painting of Abraham Lincoln from the Civil War, it's supposedly meant to foreshadow something. I'm guessing Chandler's going to declare war on this President, who he considers illegitimate.

1 in 20 is about the entire human race.

The twenty old white guys with overlapping blodlines, tracking back to Plymouth Rock, not so much.

#12 probably survived because he was adopted, and tracked his ancestry back to somewhere completely different.

    BTW... Henry Fricking Archer!

You're adding facts that aren't in evidence. No where was it mentioned that there is a hereditary component to being immune.

Military personnel are only obligated to obey lawful orders, and I'd say assisting the puppet President of the United States and his death cult in participating in a genocide against his own people and the rest of the world would certainly qualify as an unlawful order that Chandler would be duty-bound to disobey and actively resist.

If immunity is not heritable, then 19 in every 20 babies these people produce are going to die of the red flu hours after they are born.

Which means that every breeding pair, has to make at least 40 babies in their life time for the population numbers to remain stable, and 80 babies per breeding pair to even think about doubling the human population from bugger all to woefully endangered.

Indeed, quite the opposite would seem to be the case since that woman sitting next to Chandler on the bus mentioned losing her kids.

Interesting about the "lawful" orders bit. Of course, the crew can just "free" the President and take him back to the NJ.

So, this is Sean's plan, to install a President and have him order the NJ to stand down?

You notice how those two limy brothers are immune?

    They probably had similar parents.

    Dominant and recessive.

As far as the buslady goes, her kids could have been adopted.

Hell, she looked like a nurse that would steal a baby from a nursery at a hospital.

Besides, if everything is dead simple, which it probably isn't, two immunes parents should make an immune baby.

1 immune, and 1 not, = maybe 50/50 and then it gets into serious fractions if you're adding recessive traits from grandparents, to make an immune baby from two unimmune parents.

Repopulation has to be possible without the cure, or the people behind the Immune movement are morons.

Blanking on the name, but could the black guy look over at the Captain a couple more times during the speech? I don't think EVERYONE noticed it, he only did it 15 or so times. He's definitely trying to get himself caught, forcing the Captain to out himself.

Not very subtle undercover work. Maybe he should have touched his ear and talked a few times, too?

That just one of those stupid things you always see in TV and movies. Supposedly it's because you have to have reminders that they're undercover or else the audience won't get it. Also, it helps explain things quickly to anyone who missed the prior scene setting things up.

I was yelling at the screen for them to stop looking all grim at each other. They were the only ones frowning and not clapping (well, the Captain finally slow clapped once). Worst job of blending in ever. They should just send Tex to handle all that stuff.
