Survivor is back for it's 30th season, which is awesome. Yay. Here's the cast before they start hating and smelling each other: CAST INFO World's Apart meaning that there are 3 tribes - White Collar, Blue Collar and.....No Collar? Collarless? Being a massive fan of class warfare, I think this has potential to be great. I mean you have professions ranging from a corporate exec to a postal worker to a guy who actually sells coconuts (not in bulk or wholesale). Great range in contestants, who will hopefully hate each other that much more. Also present this season is a new twist, which His Probstness has not yet revealed. Enjoy everyone, I look forward to more deep and meaningful Survivor conversations. So far for me, best abs go to So Kim and Joaquin Souberbielle.
Definitely a promising start to the season. There are definitely personalities in common between the groups, more so than any other season probably. This year's gimmick has promise. I loved that line: "I would have done the same thing, only I would have told a much better lie." That's keeping it 100.
The hairy blue-collar guy needs to keep his clothes on. Seriously, if he stays around too much longer and insists on running around practically naked (I guess some of them do get naked in next week's episode), I may be skipping this season. I did get a kick out of Carolyn finding the immunity idol, but I must have missed the part of the episode where she was targeted for being voted off (I nodded off partway through the show - my TV-watching chair is a comfy one that is sometimes a little too comfy!).
Loved the first episode, thought it was great. Some interesting personalities. Looks like both my votes for best abs won't be on the show for long, that was a nice blindside though. Seriously though who wears a bloody suit, tie and matching pocket handkerchief to Survivor. C'MON MAN, you're just asking to be voted out. Douche. Insecure Vince Feather Hair is creepy as hell. I don't like him but I hope he lasts for a bit longer because it will be entertaining in a cringe-worthy sort of way. Easy on the scorpions I guess. How did the Yahoo exec who blew the puzzle on the challenge go so far under the radar, she would have been the one I would have voted out.
Joachin looks like he's giving a life building seminar. I KNOW the five secrets to success. All you have to do is attend my seminar for $299.99!
I like the beard guy and the guy who knows who has the idol. The beard guy looks like a cool guy to enjoy a pumpkin peach ale with. The other three, eh.
Yeah, I got a creepy vibe from coconut guy. Looks like that gal he latched onto is trying to distance herself but he's not gonna be easy to blow off.
Aw man, Vince we hardly knew ye. What an insecure guy, but it would have been fun to see him staring into people's souls for a few more episodes. Not sure that blindside was the greatest move, especially considering the black guy and the deaf girl are just going to drag the team down in competitions. Well done on the nakedness everyone!!!!
It seemed to me like the plan was to split vote 2-2 and vote out Nina, but then Will changed his vote to Vince. I don't know what Will was thinking there. Maybe he thought if Vince was around he would go first, but now Nina goes first, and he's just trying to live until tribes merge down to 2? Vince was never going to be long for this game. At best he might have been an early ejection after the merge. But I was surprised he went today. Also, Nina has to be the worst player in general this season. You can't put everything off on the deafness, why would she tell a person she desperately needed for her alliance that another member of her alliance didn't trust him?!
Might have been a smart move by Will to change up the plan and vote for Vince. It's always good to have a weaker player around in case the tribe decides it wants to go with the strongest players next time. And this way he avoided facing Vince and having him "stare into his soul" (as Garak put it).
I feel there's a medium amount. Fewer stupid people than last season but much more than Tony's season.
I still can't pinpoint who I like, but the no colar girls are really bitchy. I'm getting really sick of having a bunch of good looking people who are self absorbed and maybe a few older non good looking people. This season is just stupid so far. ETA: Why is this week's episode two hours, why is it so special?
It was probably just two hours because they wanted to adjust the finale date ahead a week. These two episodes definitely reduced the likability of the cast. Rodney is a smarmy, sexist asshole who gloats like a ten year old. What's her name is complaining that a person who got stung with a stingray put his feet in water when a lifeguard told him to. Max's obsessive fandom of the game seems about as useful as the fans in any fans versus favorites season. Is anyone playing the game well right now? Maybe Tyler and Joe. And I think if Will makes the merge he's got a great shot to go far. The being bad at challenges thing suddenly turns from a bad thing to a good thing the moment of the merge.
Lindsey in the first TC, and then Max in the second. The tribes also switched players and merged into two groups instead of three.
I like the way when Rodney met Joachin he was like "I really like this guy, we have so much in common. We're both total douchebags!"
^Also his saying they were 'like apples and oranges.' I don't think that phrase means what he thinks it means.
