I saw that on FB too, have been trying to get onto tribble but my game client just crashes every time I log in.

I really like the look of the new Boff system, especially the ability to change skills on the fly.
Also another specialization tree, shame i'm nowheres near close to filling the current primary tree. With the current state of earning skill points i think the time has come where I will have to dump all my alts and just concentrate on one character.

It sure looks that way. Although by running doff projects on my alts, they gain roughly a bar of xp every day. So every week and a half, they gain one specialization point just from a few minutes of work every day.

Of course it seemed easier to doff levels back before the whole increase xp you get but also increase xp needed so not really changing anything change, that from the dev explanation sounds like they did it just becuase.

I've let them slide more and more as all the extra Reputations have come out, experience for the ship, skill trees, etc. have pushed it away. I'm down to my main Fed TAC, a ROM Fed TAC, and a KDF ENG. ROM and KDF are both keeping up ok, but don't have nearly skill tree the main does. Kept reputation going, though. KDF is getting close to falling apart as more things add, though, but will drag the ROM along as long as I can, he's got some nice stuff that I can't move to the Fed...

They're in a tough spot: it's too boring to run just a single toon and have anything to do but repetitive stuff, but it's too hard/expensive to keep more than one really up to date. Not sure what the alternative is...

I've been anticipating Firefly: Online for a while. Part of me wishes it's so interesting that I can play it long term. Another part wishes it's not so I don't have to chose between what I worked for and a new funner game. :

Been listening to Priority One Podcast - and they dropped a hint on which actor will be in the 5th anniversary.

On the game at the moment, out of my 6 characters, only my fed eng and fed tac are getting used. Might use the others more for doffing today, but haven't done any missions on them for a few months.

I agree completely with you. All I'm saying is at least its still somewhat viable. If taking 2-3 years to get the max 60 specialization points is considered "viable". Oh wait, the new max is now 90 specialization points which means 4-5 years instead. Damn you, Cryptic!!!

Wel, using your doffs will get easier when you can use the gateway web-site to send them on missions...
I've used it on Neverwinter with the crafting etc.
You can check on them on your smartphone without having to load the game at home to check if they are finished and you can send them away on the next errand...

Well that or about 16 runs of Argala on Advanced a day for 90 days.

With the double XP this weekend, 9 argala runs on normal should equal one spec point

Also thinking about it, you don't really need to max out of the specializations, just the primary and secondary ones you will actually use, since you can only use one each at the time.

Cryptic will introduce newer and better specialization tracks. Even if you stopped now at 45, you'll eventually need to grind for more in the future.

They already said, they want to change primary specs so you can also use the first two tiers as secondary, too.

So, I'm just jumping in here:
I found out, via the PW boards, that one has to get all three ships initially (3000 Q photos in all) before they're able to get the discounted version for whatever ship they get. So, once I got the warship...I was able to get it (as well as for any other toon) for 40 photos.

I seem to remember another poster bringing that up....but, I guess with so many having the issue and the new patch installed, there wasn't much clarity.

Sooo, I guess I'll be having some photos for next years event....

(An unrelated sidenote: It's funny when I beam down to Starfleet Academy and it's always daytime when it's usually dark here in the Bay when I'm playing after work...lol)

I would love it if they changed zones like SFA to have a day/night cycle. I don't know if I'd want a night cycle at the Klingon Academy though. It's already dark in that place.

I haven't been able to confirm this, but I think they are making that part of the campaign open to all factions. So now the Feds wouldn't have so much of a mission advantage over the other two for getting xp.

On the bright side when that goes through all those abilities are permanent, even if you replace them with new ones.

Kind of makes up for the EC price increase and the needing dilithium price on the higher ones.
