    I wonder what the other 1-2 movies for 2019 will be. Iron Man 4? Ant-Man 2? Hulk? I'd like to see a Hawkeye-Black Widow team-up movie. :)

Maybe it will depend how the new characters are received.

Do we really need an Iron Man 4 at this point, if we have Civil War and the Avengers films?

    Amazing...AMAZING!!!

What I see are also the beginnings and endings of actor contracts as it coincides with franchises.

Thor & Cap wrap their trilogies and the actors do as well with Avengers 3&4

GotG is the first new franchise with a sequel. Meanwhile potential starts of all new franchises and directions with Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Inhumans. How Ant-Man shakes out is to be determined.

I'm hugely excited and have been for every Marvel Studios production to date. However, my first MEH has occured with Captain Marvel as I've just never been a Carol fan. Like coffee I've tried her solo efforts and just never taken to her. Quite disappointed it's not Black Widow we are getting as the solo effort.

If these other characters all take off then we may not need IM, Cap and Thor for awhile and those characters can "rest". While a the same time within these franchises we no doubt will get our Falcons and War Machines also introduced. Great time to be a comic book fan. It's truly a Golden Age of Comic Book to Film!!

Woah. To quote Baron Von Strucker, "This is the age of miracles."

I"m psyched for Captain Marvel. I can't wait to see how they do live-action Carol Danvers.

I wonder how the split-up of Infinity War will work. Will both parts take place back-to-back within a few days/weeks or be a year apart like their releases but have completely linked scenarios?

Yay! Feige confirmed that the crystal on Loki's scepter is an Infinity Stone!

I wonder if Team Marvel intentionally waited until after DC announced their big slate, to pop their balloon. Who cares about Aquaman or Cyborg now? :rommie:

Marvel and WB/DC have been co-oping each others thunders for the past 2 weeks. This list has me pumped for the next five years.

Although I am smh in disappointment with Marvel atm. Really guys?! November 8th for Black Panther? Knowing full well that Justice League 1 opens up a week later on November 17th. It's not a toss up who is going to win the Thanksgiving holiday but still. It's like Black Panther is being sacrificed.

They showed a teaser for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 at the event (more than 6 months before the previous Avengers movie even hits theaters!).

Oh, and it's been leaked online! Here it is:

    [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv2NRpG76Pg[/yt]

It clearly features some footage from previous movies, so I'm thinking that the new Avengers-looking footage is probably entirely from Age of Ultron. I can't imagine they'd be filming for Infinity Wars already. Anyway, the highlight obviously comes at the end:

    Is it 2018 yet?! :scream:

Fury was never based on a movie star. That's something Millar made up. He was based on Jack Kirby's old army sergeant.

Based on past MCU movies taking place in a linear timeline, chances are Infinity War part 2 will take place a year after part 1. In other words, its a year long war and not something that will be resolved in a day or two. Since Captain Marvel and Inhumans movies are placed in between parts 1 and 2, they may very well play a vital role in ending the war in part 2.

^ Or WB pushed Marvel in to revealing their hand. Kevin Feige had been coy about the details regard Black Panther and Captain Marvel. VP Vicki Alonson also wanted a female superhero. Saying, "if it were up to me, it would be today".
This quote is from an article dated October 18th. That was literally 11 days ago.

I think Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) was thrown out there to answer the cries online that Marvel's Cinematic Universe was not inclusive enough. WB did beat them to the punch by having both a date and actress for their WW film. We have an actor for BP but not one for Capt Marvel. Marvel has been credited with have a long thought out plan, but with regards to a female solo movie; I think they got caught flat footed.

It's funny to think that if Agents of SHIELD continues on, by the time Avengers: Infinity War pt.2 comes out, it will have finished its sixth season.

    Long time guys :)

Black Panther is going to be in Captain America: Civil War, more than two years before the Captain Marvel movie, that's why they have an actor for him. I don't think that's a sign that they got caught flat-footed at all. And people have assumed Black Panther and Carol Danvers would be part of Phase Three for years - I really don't think making a Captain Marvel movie is in reaction to a Wonder Woman movie, I think it's just part of Marvel's long though-out plan.

I don't buy the idea that Marvel is being reactionary to WB at all. They've had plans in place for this film universe for going on a decade now. They've known where their films have been heading. They're not just throwing random movies out there, they're making them when the time is right for them to do so. And Masiral is right: Black Panther has already been cast because he will feature in Civil War, which is due to start filming next year for a 2016 release. Captain Marvel isn't due until 2018, between Infinity War installments. In fact, I would not be surprised at all if Carol Danvers actually makes her first appearance in Infinity War, Part I leading up to her solo movie.

I see no reason to believe at this point that any DC film would be more successful than a Marvel film.

Kevin Feige said their plan was to announce this at Comic Con, but they couldn't lock down all the moving pieces first. That suggests they had their ideas for some time. But they needed to sign Downey to Captain America first. They also apparently waited until they signed Chadwick Boseman to be in that movie as well. They also apparently decided to move Guardians up in time.

Now he could be lying about past actions (as opposed to being deceptive about future plans to keep the surprise), but, otherwise, there's no indication this was done. I will point out that we've known the contours of Phase 2 for quite some time. The announcement for Phase 3 is obviously huge but that's partly because Phase 3 is so huge.

I do find it interesting that no confirmation of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange was announced. This would have been a great time to do so. It looks like Deadline and everyone else severely jumped the gun the other day, and it makes me wonder how far into negotiations Cumberbatch really is.

I don't really think it's even fair to compare Marvel vs. DC anymore, first because I'm not an either or person, I'd like to enjoy them all, but even more, look at what has just happened, Man of Steel, featuring Superman, a main if not the main character of DC made less than Guardians of the Galaxy.

Really, that kind of puts this in an apples and oranges category to me, like comparing an NFL team to your son's pee wee football team.

That last sentence was a joke, BTW, WB is a major studio, but still, they are hopelessly trying to catch up, but maybe from that desperation we can finally get a good DC movie?
