    Blurb (translation):
In the Lembatta-Cluster, an eerie region on the outer skirts of Federation space, a dangerous evil is arising: Fanatical followers of the "Harmony of Spheres", calling themselves the purifying flame, call for an all-out war against the depraved realms of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The pathological lust for expansion of the humans, Klingons and other races must be stopped – By all means necessary.

The crew of the U.S.S. Prometheus is trying desperately to stop this diplomatic and militaristic crisis. Doing that Captain Richard Adams and his crew not only have to fight against the hostile Renao, but also against the war-hungry Klingons, led by the ambitious Captain of the I.K.S. Bortas, the former flagship of the deceased chancellor Gowron, sent by the Klingon High Council to solve the crisis the hard way.

Finished it quickly. Neat feature to include a map of Lembatta.

I like how the story is a reflection of present-day issues. The Renao extremists are an amalgam of Islamist terrorism and East German neo-fascism. It feels relevant, and offers a fish-out-of-water perspective. Can't wait for part three.

Three people who read the German edition already voted. I'm looking forward to the votes of anyone else. It's been a while since I have read it and I liked all the new character.

I’m finding the first couple of chapters are rehashes of what occurred in Book 1. Although with the 6 month gap, it’s nice.

I’ve noticed in a lot of these post Nemesis novels that they spend a lot of pages of just recapping what happened before. I understand why they do it but it does get rather annoying if, like me, you’re reading them one by one in order.

I finished this book and really thought it was good. I liked the unraveling of the mystery in the Lambatta cluster and the Renao culture being explored.I also liked the political scenes with the Federation and Klingon empire. This book is full of unexpected suprises. I can't wait to get book 3 to see how this miniseries wraps up in November..

I finished this book a couple of days ago. It was nice enough, and new TrekLit is always welcome, but it felt IMO a bit... rough around the edges, characterization and plotting wise.

The many references to Trek canon and literature started as a welcome surprise in the first book (as they didn't *need* to include these), but in the new book it felt a bit forced.

the characters seemed a bit.. not *flat* but unnatural (or maybe "forced" would again be the more appropriate word?), in their dialogue and inner thoughts to me, and I got the overall feeling of fan fiction..
..very well researched and invested, but still fan fiction rather than a polished "professional" TrekLit work.

Is it just me, or did Titan seem to use a thinner paperstock for the cover on The Root Of All Rage? When I hold the book and compare it to Fire With Fire or even the other Pocket books, and even going back to the Bantam novels, the cover of TROAR just seems so flimsy.
