Yeah, but the Windows on the Discovery herself have been to scale. So there is no reason for us to suspect the Enterprise's windows are not.

The new Enterprise has to be alot bigger. Unless someone wants to suggest that it's the smallest ship in the fleet?

When will Eaglemoss or CBS release the Enterprise(D) specs?

Yeah it's bigger but not to the extent the Kelvin version is, to me it looks like a 50% increase at most but we will have to wait for more footage or still to be sure.

May have to wait until 2019 for it.

    Check out that bridge window.

    For comparison:

    And overall scale-wise...

My guess is that the new Enterprise is as tall as the TOS design, keeping the same number of decks while being both wider and longer.

They had to make the Enterprise bigger, it really does look foolish alongside the Discovery in both size and especially internal space, will be interesting to see the comparison of the weapon loadouts between the two ships, some on here seem to think the Enterprise will be much more heavily armed and shielded but I am not convinced.

Now I look again at the footage of the Discovery and Enterprise nose to nose I think the Enterprise may be bigger than the +50% I settled on before as I think they are actually closer together than I originally thought.

I don't think the Enterprise is going to be 750m but I do think it could be into the mid 500s.

So hard to tell for sure.

I still think that would still make it too small for what I can see on screen but I know what you mean, the new Enterprises profile has been flattened somewhat and the nacelles have been splayed outwards more as a consequence.

Even so I think the Enterprise we saw in the footage is still taller than the original as there may not be windows on every deck.

Whereas the Discovery has an even flatter profile and his more in line with the height of the original TOS Enterprise as shown by the head on mockups some members have posted on this thread.

You can't really conclude anything from the scene. We don't know the distance between the ships, and even if we did, the effect size is not necessarily the 'real' size.

It's bigger then the Kelvin ones, making the ship smaller.

If the Enterprise's viewscreen window is roughly the same size as the Discovery's, then it would be close to the TOS size.

    This 100%

Yeah, I think so. Obviously we haven't seen the interior so the Enterprise might have a two storey high viewscreen like that early Probert concept for TNG, but I don't think that's likely.

The Connie is scaled to 289, and the Crossfield to 750.5 and they're on the same plain

Yep. Angled shot like that can be really deceptive.

It's still possible you're right and I'm wrong. As camera angles, and focal lengths can change everything. There just isn't really any way to know until someone releases the official numbers.

    It's all guesses and estimates.

I think the angle is different in between the two pics. Even 10 degrees can make a huge difference:

I don't think the Enterprise is facing 1:1 with the Discovery, looks like it's turned slightly to the right

Since the season is over, can anyone ask what the Enterprise's dimensions are?

Quick 5 minute back of napkin math...

Saucer rim of Discovery is 1 deck and roughly 5m tall.

Saucer rim of Enterprise is 2 decks, and if we assume that means it's 10m tall...I figure the saucer is in the area of 180m wide (rounded down a bit as I didn't bother to 100% Enterprise's perspective). With a 10% margin of error (reasonable), that gives a range of 198m to 162m. With a 20% margin (also reasonable) that gives a range of 216 to 144m.

EDIT: applying my method to the Discovery nets a figure roughly 20% off.

1701OG is 127m wide. Which, if that's still the case, would require my lazy math to be off by over 40%...which I don't think is likely.
