Hi All, I got my mom Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, which she liked and said there was also a show with a female lead as a Minister (Or maybe other Gov't Official?). Now, she's not even sure if it's a Comedy or not. Anyone know what show she's referring to?
A google search turned up this The Amazing Mrs Pritchard was a British drama series that aired on BBC One in 2006. Produced by Kudos, it was written by Sally Wainwright and stars Jane Horrocks in the title role of a woman with no previous political experience who becomes Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Amazing_Mrs_Pritchard But if she likes Policial based shows, I would recommed "House of Cards"
No job for a lady staring Penelope Keith. I don't think she was a minister ran on the itv network from 1990 to 1992
That could very well be it. I also gave her To The Manor Born at the same time, and the Title she stabbed at it with was An Unsuitale job for a Woman (Which is a 2000s show about a PI) The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard would likely to be too new, she hassn't had cable for abouot 10 yearss, so unlikely to have seen a British show from 2006 ETA: I just called her and told her the details of Penelope Keith; 1990 - 1992; and Labour MP, and sure enough, you're right. Thanks so much for the help folks
In addition to the Penelope Keith series, and Mrs Pritchard, it could be The last couple of series of the Thick of It (spin-off film In the Loop, co-starring the LL James Gandolfini), with Rebecca Front as the new DoSaCC minister, Nicola Murray. Except that's too recent!
Who was in Ever Decreasing Circles with Richard Briers who was in The Good Life with both Penelope Keith and Paul Eddington, as mentioned above. I've ben looking for the Amazing Mrs Pritchard online for years. I almost had it once, but the bastard had been dubbed into Japanese.
