In the unlikely event that they decide they want Q, but can't persuade John de Lancie to reprise the role (as his arguements aren't invalid), I could them approaching Keegan de Lancie as he'd be reasonably easy to tweak to more closely resemble his father than most, and even in the hard canon obsessives couldn't really say "but he's not Q!" because he is Q (if not by "Q Junior" in the RW for ease of reference).

All Good Things was an alternate timeline, so it should have little bearing on thus show.

I would rather see Picard use his diplomatic skills to deal with what is left of the Romulan Empire, then dealing with a hostile Klingon Empire. Picard having Irumodic Syndrome could be interesting and being exs with Crusher is fine.

Well I know one thing I may like it but I probably won’t like it as much as the TNG and DS9 post series books

    Out there. Thatta way.
Discovery was supposed to be a fresh new take and they *still* crammed in enough fanservice make a weeaboo cringe (because they like fanserv...aww screw it. Seemed better in my head but I don't have a more succinct way to conclude this so there you go)

The Picard show isn't DSC, though. Kurtzman even specifically said the tone would be different. Add to that the fact that none of the other Berman Trek-era actors have been contacted about appearing...

True. If they have been approached, they’re probably under an NDA gag order not to discuss it with anyone.

Frakes looks better than he has since season 2, it would be a huge shame if he didn't show up.

Right, his character was just about always popular and he was at one time more popular that Picard.

I would imagine getting Frakes would be very easy as well given his working relationship with CBS. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up directing an episode. That would be the best time for him to appear.

I have to say I am looking forward to seeing where they go with ship designs. I hope the designs in STO aren't where they're going though. I enjoy the game but I don't like a lot of the newer ships there. I would like for something very different. It's space. You don't have to hold to the same old designs.

Exactly and plus the episodes he directs are pretty good

My thoughts exactly. To cite an example, IMO the novels resolved the Picard - Crusher relationship very satisfactorily for the P/C fans.

Based on the few info on the ex-cast members that have been invited to join the new series, I have a feeling the series won't resolve their relationship in the manner that will satisfy P/C fans :confused:.

Right thats one of my favorite parts about those books. I guess I’m just gonna have to wait so that I can watch the show so I can determine if it’s going to be in my head canon. Guess we just have to remember they’re not here to satisfy all of us. Oh well on the bright side I believe there still making the books so

If Picard doesn't have his Insurrection bullet time powers, I'm gonna be mad.

IIRC, that ability only applied to the environs within the Briar Patch. Kind of like why Indiana Jones wouldn't have been immortal beyond the Great Seal in the big cave after drinking from the Grail. Only applies to a specific geographic location. Not that I give much of a shit about it, to be honest. IMO, Insurrection is better off being left forgotten in its entirety, along with Nemesis.
