How does Captain Kirk stay 'up' on the ship's status when he's taking a stroll in the corridors? How does Quark know which shops have gotten a shipment of goods that would look good on the black market? How does Counselor Troi keep track of all the psychological foibles of an android who shouldn't have any psychology at all? Why, because there's an app for that! Things have changed a lot since Star Trek aired (any incarnation of it - even the reboot movie was already in pre-production when the iPhone debuted in June of 2007!), and Morpheus 02 is savvy enough to believe that the phenomenon of 'apps' would have an impact on the future we've seen in Trek. So he challenged us this month to take a look at the Star Trek App Catalog ("Memory Kappa?") and share what we found. After all, we've already seen they have Androids! And Kirk presented an Apple to one of the civilizations they encountered. Flip though our selection, place your order - the one with the most 'downloads' gets to program the October challenge ====== Birdog Ensign Ro- Klaus Ptrope solarbaby
Im the second person that voted i voted for Ptrope cus of the nice Ship schematic on it + looked rather functional to me
Sorry, I never saw an e-mail from you or a thread that had another entry. My apologies if I missed one.
I really wanted to vote for Ensign Ro- (and if we'd had enough entries to do this with multiple selections, I definitely would have!), just because the Praxis disclaimer is brilliant, but I had to vote for Klaus - it's just so thorough and intelligent .
Thanks, PTrope. I'm glad you enjoyed the joke. At least one person showed some love. I'm glad to have made it on the scoreboard. I'm sure it was a pity vote from a good friend of mine here. LOL
Loved ALL the entries...but i personally went with Klaus, with the multiple screens & extra pun (covert apps!) . Great job everyone!
Can you post it anyway? i'd love to see it! Congrats, Ptrope, on your win. An excellent one was well...though now i wonder if the next winner will also have some toilet humor
This was Scott1768's entry - there was a thread that I missed (went up the day you announced it, Morpheus 02 ):
Thanks! And thanks to everyone who voted, for any entry - it's not a contest without you . Thanks to my fellow entrants - many great and fun ideas. I've got my thinkin' cap on - I'll try to post the new challenge tonight (depending on what time zone you're in ); still mulling several ideas. You know me - I love to make 'em tough (they should be challenging, right? ).
