Hearing about the destruction of Romulus I've been formulating a possible story in my head that would set straight the prime universe in an unexpected way. If I'm paid to write this. Not just once it's published and selling I'll do it. But I don't have time to get sidetracked without compensation right now. Abrams Universe is far too limiting writing out all the events that ever took place in it is the best way to go in my opinion. Tell me what you think.

Well, they also have the "Byrneverse," as it were, since John Byrne's comics have their own continuity and arcs. But yeah, the IDW comics have generally been like the early Pocket novels -- usually standalone and not consistent with each other, but with occasional subcontinuities within the line. Heck, there are a few IDW standalone comics set within the novelverse, like the ones Keith DeCandido wrote for Alien Spotlight and Captain's Log.

I think if you're serious, then you should be asking S&S what they think, not us. :p

He's wanting us fans to pay him for his "unexpected" restoration of Romulus.

Pretty certain that's a good way to get sued.

And I like the idea of the future novels possibly dealing with the loss of a major power base, so that just one reason for the 'no' from me.

Also a great way to introduce yourself to a company you want to pitch a show to. By stealing their IP!

The comics are for me, the second best tie in behind the novels. There are a lot of comics that do a pretty good job capturing the feel of the shows.
I guess my problem with a lot of the other stuff, is they tend to feel like whatever they are first with the Trek elements second.
