Was it right from Janeway to decide for Seven Of Nine?

Once free, she subdued the other freed drones with her, and re assimilated them.

So did the rest of the Borg children yet Seven gave them the choice of joining Voyager ignoring Janeway's "bring them on board whether they want to or not" directive. The one child that refused, was standing too close to a console when it conveniently exploded.

Which tells us all we need to know about what Seven's choice would always be, as long as she had one.

As far as I'm concerned, Janeway was wrong because she enforced her will on someone, much like the Borg do. If one is wrong, then both are. And, as we saw, they both are. Even Seven accused Janeway of it and, wisely, Janeway didn't defend her action. That tells me all I need to know, really.

Seems they would have let her go, had the Borg acted "honourably" after 8472 had been driven back to fluidic space:

In some ways yes, Janeway pretty much violated Seven's free will because she wanted to mold her as a sort of student or daughter after her.

Was it morally questionable? Yes, but I would say for Seven's interests as an individual I would say it was a good call.

Seven was six when she was assimilated, and stated to Janeway that she'd been a drone for 18 years. So, she was 24 when she joined Voyager

Indeed, she was older than 20 yo but well regardless her age, even if intellectually, her level was higher than individuals gathered on board, emotionnally, she was still immature and looked for experiences (friendship, love, etc...).

Its been a while, but Janeway betrayed the Borg first.

The Federation was only willing to stick to their original agreement with the Borg because they foolishly misassumed that 8472 invaded Vacuum Space, and that they were not also victims of the Borg, defending themslves zealously.

If Janeway had stuck to the original plan to murder or bloody 8472, and save the Borg, then the Borg and the Federation "may" have left this alliance on good terms.

    How?

I do remember Chakotay doing so, but he was opposed to the alliance from the start and did so while Janeway was incapacitated.

Janeway stopped trying to kill 8472.

The plan was to kill 8472.

Janeway deviated from the plan because 8472 turned out to be slightly innocent.

Killing the slightly innocent is what monsters do.

Janeway said the Borg betrayed the federation, because the Borg did not volunteer the fact, that they started the war with 8472. Who started the war did not change the other fact that 8472 wanted to purge the vacuum universe.

Lying is not the same as betrayal.

    The Borg were on spec.

Janeway broke the deal with the Borg, that was founded on dishonest first principles.

Wait it was Chakotay that called off the deal when Janeway was incapacitated? Because he realized the borg started the war. Or am I remembering scorpion wrong?

It's been years since I've seen these episodes. Sorry.

The Borg lost their ship, when Janeway was damaged. They wanted a lift, 5 days away deeper into Borgspace, to meet up with another Borg science vessel that could continue work on the nanoprobe super weapon.

This is what broke the peace.

It's 40 years home through a galaxy about to be purged by 8472 and Chuckles and Janeway both forgot that transwarp is 50 thousand times, or more, faster than regular warp, so the deal all along should have been to be taken home immediately, not to be chaperoned at regular warp plod.

Chakotay broke the alliance by telling the Borg (2 dozen-ish drones on Voyager?) that he was going to leave them on the next planet. The Borg attacked. Only Seven survived. She took the ship to Fluidic Space. It's then that Janeway woke up, and found out that the Borg started the war.

Seven lost her Cube defending Voyager.

Chakotay couldn't give the woman that saved his life a lift, that would give the Borg time to invent the weapons that will save the galaxy from being culled?

    What a petty little asshole.
