Yeah, it seems weird to me that she wouldn't want a movie about a spy to be an espionage story.

Here is the trailer for the Black Widow movie... Clearly taking out the espionage or flashbacks, as requested by Scarlet.

I didn't even bother reading any more once they called it a Disney+ movie, if they don't even know that it's coming to theaters then I'm not going to bother reading their "leaks".

That had a real Winter Soldier vibe. I like it.

Definitely starting to pique my interest.

So the 'sister' is obviously BWII. Hopper is Red Guardian, who wikipedia tells me was married to BW in the comics, but the trailer looks more like there's a relationship between him and the older woman at the table. Is she perhaps a previous gen BW?

The trailer looks very good, but I expect no less from a Marvel movie. It seems to take place between Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron. My only real problem, and this is personal, is that I'm just not as invested in the character as I would have been if they hadn't already killed her off. That said, I'll probably pick it up on dvd.

Actually, it's supposed to take place in between Civil War and Infinity War, after Natasha went on the run.

I thought the rumor was it's supposed to be between Civil War and Infinity War. Not sure why General Ross would be talking to her otherwise, unless that's trailer trickery. Also, the trailer uses her Age of Ultron visions exactly like in that movie, which kind of implies AoU already happened.

    Looks great, can't wait.

And hopefully there's nothing in the film that betrays that, I'd like to file it chronologically on the shelf. :)

It felt like it happened shortly after SHIELD broke up to me. But it would fit between Civil War and Infinity War as well I suppose.

It'll be interesting if something in this story gives the character hope for a return in the future. It just doesn't mean as much knowing her fate. That's one of the reasons I hate killing off good characters. It taints past and future usage.

This movie didn't scream "must see," but that's because she's not that kind of character for me. I don't know if she warrants a spin-off of her own, but I will see it. Hopefully it's good, but Marvel is on such a roll lately, I am expecting good things. I also hope it's good because it will make Elizabeth Banks look even more foolish.

Remember, Banks said that Superheroines don't count since they're from male dominated settings.

Excellent trailer. Even though we only briefly saw them, the supporting cast already resonates well, particularly David Harbour ("You got fat"...he's really leaning into the dad bod mode these days ).

While it's a shame it's taken this long for Marvel to finally give Nat her own film, I think getting it now after her death will be a sweet denouement for the character's story arc.

I did not hear that comment, but what does that even mean? Male dominated in that most superheroes are men? Well, aren't most cops men too? Charlie's Angels are essentially cops/secret agents. Plus, what did Elizabeth Banks say about the McG version of the story, which were also big hits?

Kelsey Grammer is looking buff, good to see him returning to superhero movies...er, wait. As a fat man, I resent all the fat-shaming of males in these Marvel movies lately. I suppose in today's climate I shouldn't say such things even mostly in jest, might spark a shitstorm.

I could see it potentially making less money if the whole cold war spy thing doesn't spark as much as typical Marvel superheroics beyond just sexism. As for Charlie's Angels, I think it might have done better without tying it to the franchise. I thought it looked awkward as a take on Charlie's Angels and in interviews the girls seemed clueless about that but would've bought it as a millennial take on an action spy thing. Hell, it probably would've killed as a Disney+ deal actually, no insult meant, just seems like a good match.

At the first glimpse of Hawkeye, I thought that we were going to see a snippet of the long-awaited Budapest flashback, but I then quickly realized they were showing brief clips from the first two Avengers films.

That aside, I loved it and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. And I really do hope we get that flashback to Nat and Havwkeye in Budapest, pre-Avengers.
